I also want to become a psycologist but it ain't easy. It requires straight A:s here in Scandinavia just as med school. Heard that it is much easier in the UK. I got offered to study there and the requirements are insanely low compared to Sweden.

Very interesting I must admit. The methodologies I have found in counselling is that if you come across an event in your life, you'll get counselled or treated for it by either forgetting/removing it or 'overcoming' it. It does not become about accepting it and/or learning from it. So the fact that you can even learn something from abuse you may have experienced brings more meaning into one's life. This sort of psychology can teach you that your life is more meaningful than you think. I am glad there are people in the psychology field thinking this way, thank you.

At about 3:26 you ask a very helpful question: What is the the Islamic basis that Ms. Banani brings to the table when addressing issues? In responding to this, I like how she invokes aqidah and fiqh, explaining it is important to understand one's obligations within Islam, but she doesn't get bogged down defining and explaining these. Rather, she focuses on her area of expertise and urges one to find inspiration in the principles of Islam. "To live and love for a higher purpose." Mashallah. Thank you. It's easy to just hear the words of this interview, but seems very worthwile to reflect on this idea of giving ourselves over to relationship as a path to understanding Love in the highest sense. ... While many of the examples in this video suggest clients in crisis, I don't think we need to be in a difficult psychological state to benefit from what Ms. Banani points towards.

Please put the academic titles next to this smart and learned sister so that people know from the title that she’s not just average. If she requested not to do that then I understand but we need to be proud of people like her and celebrate them; we can do that by giving her the credit she deserves. Thank you.

هُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers. Al-Fath verse 4
@Beusheu8 жыл бұрын
Astaghfirullah, forgive me if I say anything wrong. "Then ask those who possess the Message if you do not know." [Al-Qu'ran 21:7 and 16:43] I think even though in first instance and original context, this refers to the people who possess the knowledge of the book of Allah (swt) But in modern day, it can also point at people who, by applying the book of Allah (swt) and the sunnah of the Prophet (saws) in modern knowledge about the human psyche, can help you understand more about yourself and your struggles. Offcourse it is Allah (swt) who gives tranquillity, just as He (swt) provides for everything in our lives, but that does not mean that we should not look or do an effort in finding what we need. Couldn't it be that Allah (swt) is helping the Ummah by giving this people the knowledge to help others in finding peace? Just as when you have a headache and take medication to help it, it will be Allah (swt) that decides if it will cure you, but you still need to take the medication...

why not? Why limit what people can hope for in paradise? If a woman's husband was a rotter, it's no paradise if she also has to endure the company of that same person in paradise. And if he doesn't make the grade, it would be no paradise if she had to remain celibate.

Hello, brothers and sisters, Automatically, we are all born sinners and deserve to go to hell. Our good deeds can not save us because good deeds can not guarantee us heaven. Jesus loves you and wants to have a relationship with you if you allow him. God gave Jesus to die for our sins in order for us not to go to hell anymore (Read John 3:16). Jesus is the guarantee and not your good deeds. Death could happen any day and anytime, and if you haven't given your life to Jesus, it might be too late. All you have to do is go to a quiet place and ask God to forgive you your sins and ask God to wash your sins away with the blood of Jesus. confess with your mouth that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. And tell Jesus to come into your life. After this prayer, get a bible and start reading from the book of John. My brothers and sisters, please give Jesus a chance as it might be too late. God bless you.

very interesting. How would Wahabism view this intermingling of western psychotherapy and Islam and would it be considered inappropriate by more traditional Islamists?
@ThanaAquilah127 жыл бұрын
felix the Cat this type of psychology actually leaves out the bad parts of western psychology. so if the theory or type of therapy doesn't agree with Quran or sunnah it is not used. like for example Freud believes the ego id and super ego controls us. we as muslims know this is untrue Freud also believes we are sexually driven which also goes against the teachings of the Quran so we learn about these theories but don't apply them because it is not what Allah teaches us to be true.
@unixguyy7 жыл бұрын
Thana Aquilah dear there's no halal or haram psychology and im telling you this as a muslim psychologist when you're a psychologist ,when working,you have to get rid of every religious and ideological judgement when dealing with scientific researches ,theories or working with a clinical case so you can understand people in the best way possible if you're a psychologist that lets religion interfere with your profession then you should just find another job and no there's no "oh a new theory?let me check this in my book of faith" thing in this kind of field
@ThanaAquilah127 жыл бұрын
so when counselling a Muslim client do you include our Deen? maybe i worded this wrong. its more so learning what theories or parts of theories disagree with Islamic teachings. in order to address the whole Muslim you can't leave out Islam or you are denying them the connection with our creator. like she said if the Muslim is depressed what does their deen look like? do you have cognitive dissonance when you aren't properly worshipping Allah? i know i do. its not the blatant denial of the work that has been done it is understanding how that fits in with Quran and Sunnah. i learn all of the secular knowledge but i understand the way it fits in regards to our religion
@unixguyy7 жыл бұрын
"so when counselling a Muslim client do you include our Deen?"no also in psychological consueling the client is the one that is active and not the opposite, like alot of people tend to believe , what is intresting is the subjective point of view of the client you may guide him to interpret what he's going through but not interpet at his place or answer in his place..if the client is in a quest of spirituality and he have to find ansewrs you may guide him to that in an objective sense and not in a sense of an islamic scholar as you said it's a very secular field which changes your whole way of dealing with people in work or outside the workplace. PS:im talking about the whole field in general and basics of its deonthology code when working with all kinds of people
@osamaagami48585 жыл бұрын
@@unixguyy Just by doing what you supposed to do is including Islam and going by its teachings. solving the patients problems is not by directing him to Islam , but directing anyone to the right thing to do is a step towards Islam, Islam tell me Allah want people to be good, he give the believers and non believers, its my duty to spread health for the sake of Allah, I am a doctor , in emergency and general practitioner in completely non Islamic community.

In Isaiah the Prophet said the Messiah would be called prince of peace ,savior, everlasting father and Jesus Christ said when you have seen me you have also seen the Father and in the book of Revelation Jesus Christ appears as the Father but says it is him and in the old testament he appeared as the Angel of the Lord, so early Christians believed not in the trinity but that Jesus became incarnated but existed before hand which Jesus Christ claimed when he said he was before Abraham plus before his death Moses and Elijah appeared in Ghost or spirit form with some of his apostle witnessing this and at his resurrection many people who had died God allowed there ghost body or spirit appear to many and many believed
@Me203025 жыл бұрын
The Messiah (as) was speaking to a people who were astray and in a time of confusion concerning the faith. It was through him that people were led back to knowing Allah, the tenants of faith, and having hope in His Compassion and Mercy by implementing that goodness to others. Overtime, the people of the book lost that way again. Allah then sent His last and final Prophet and Messenger (Muhammad [saws]) into the world, as a mercy, with the Qur’an to all peoples to show them the way to salvation. We Muslims are taught to not make rivals of the prophets as they were all upon the same mission.
