Haha, I love the “my wife was texting me about dinner” moment. So relatable. Usually we only get “my dogs are barking”. Thanks for not editing out that behind the scenes moment 😂

What bothers me about Ed's behavior her is that, in a sense, he gets everything he wants. He gets to cheat. He gets to "win" and then he gets to back track on his behavior and come away being liked. It feels so slimy

Ed said in previous seasons that he went to therapy on his own a fair bit, but it looks like he just learned to fake progress using therapist terms with no intention of improvement. Liz needs help so she doesn't end up with any more Eds in her life... Actually quite afraid for her future.

Liz deserves so much better. Whatever flaws she might have pale in comparison from what we've seen from Ed. Someone in her life at some point must have convinced her that she doesn't deserve happiness because she seems to have settled for so little with Ed. It's so disappointing to watch.

Your reactions have helped me better navigate my own communication with my partners. They have also helped me better advocate for myself in therapy when I felt I wasn't on the right path. Currently looking for a therapist with more experience to meet my needs. But until then these videos give me useful notes to think about that I can bring up with my new therapist.

No, I don't believe it's just shenanigans. It seems that in an earlier season, the production team might have encouraged him to portray a specific character type. Over time, with the increase in viewership, fame, and attention, this character has become a part of his actual personality. As a result, the production team may no longer need to instruct him in "shenanigans."

I think that's the question with Ed. Why? He's crossed so many personal boundaries, without little consideration. It's about Ed. Has he ever put himself in Liz's shoes, or anyone else's. Does he take a moment and think, " if I do this, this will hurt her or make her mad?" It's all about Ed. It feels selfish. It feels that there's conditions to him. I will love you, but it has to be my way, go my direction. It feels like a power struggle. They live in HIS house, not one they found together. He dictates Liz's career or job choice. He showed the same behavior with Rose. It's a good question. What is it inside of Liz for her to be okay with that kind of treatment? MOD is right around the corner from my house. It's a staple 😂. It's weird to hear a semi local restaurant from your favorite doctor and human on the Web. Dillion James and a caeser salad is my goto.😂

My mother and I went to a retreat with Virginia Satir, I think in the late 60's. The only part i remember is that after my mother complained about how I was dressing, Virginia put us in the center of the circle, mussed up my hair, put dirt on my face, and hitched up my long skirt in a messy way. I wish I could remember what she then said to my mother and what my mother said - but I don't 😞

@@katella I wish I knew too. I do remember that I felt kind of astonished and terrified by Virginia's "audacity". However, I do know that nothing changed in my relationship with my mother. Even though we tried various therapies over the years (and she was an art therapist!), we were both too damaged for anything to have an effect. I didn't discover relational therapy til I was 60, and she had already died by then. Did you have an experience with Virginia?

@@cestmarrant1 it's always sad when we want to work things out with our parents and aren't able to do that. We can keep working on ourselves though. I had no personal experience with Virginia Satir but I found her approach intriguing and enjoyed a year of training as a gestalt therapist.

I don't think it is uncommon for a lot of women to want to be provided for. Even women in industrialized countries. Many of them a are sick and tired of doing everything. Many times women get the short end of the stick. Many times they have to work and have careers, plus deal with the children, and the household chores. Sometimes they have to do it all alone too- which honestly I prefer that then to have an ineffectual glorified roommate with extra benefits- probably which benefits them more than me. Also many of us want to build strong nurturing bonds with our children. It's natural. Mother nature's call is often strong and overpowering. It can actually be detrimental to our emotional and psychological and physiological well being. And Some people may actually say... Well Molly's children are not that young. One child was even an adult if a remember correctly. For those who say that are probably not mothers of teenagers and young adults. It's actually way harder to parent a teenager and to help guide and support a young adult in a healthy and effective way. Molly was by herself trying to single parent her daughters of a lot of her life it seems. So I can empathize with her. And for those with hectic lives because you have an infant or toddler or young child... Just wait. :-) Kolay Gelsin (may it be easy for you). 🤗
