In hindsight I'm really glad the world got to see Rose's method of dealing with the Eds of the world

Ed saying “I knows I have a ton of things to work on” is essentially the same as the guy who hits his parter and promises “to never do it again”

thank you for discussing Ed's manipulation of the audience and his partner. watching him do the "I have issues BUT YOU...." over and over, and seeing Liz fall for it, only to get abused again, is the reason why we as audience feel triggered by him. We all had the displeasure of meeting a similar specimen, lucky for most of we cut ties before too much damage to our lives. i CANT WAIT FOR YOUR DEEPDIVE ON LIES!

Throw this whole couple away. I’ve never seen two people so committed to chaos and instability while pretending to seek peace and security. They are so tragic!

@JonniesMusica I stopped watching 90 day the last resort because of Ed and Angela. I just couldn't watch anymore and I will never even begin watching another season if it has Ed on it.

Thank you for doing this series and this couple. Last year I found myself in a relationship eerily similar to Ed and Liz’s. It was deeply distressing and yes, verbally and emotionally abusive. These videos have been critical in helping me understand what happened to me and how. Hopefully I will never find myself in such a terrible situation again. Thank you. (And yes i do therapy too don’t worry :))

I love that dr Honda quotes an 80s commercial and 90s movie, then says “as the youths say” lol

I can see why Ed never changes. It's because he doesn't have to. Liz will always be there, so why change? It's like a lazy employee who never gets fired. They know their job won't pull the trigger, so they will always be safe with a job.

Liz or no Liz, he’s not likely to change. He’s incredibly disordered.

@kayann100 right? If Liz left he would search until he found someone else to take advantage of rather than change himself

I once dated a person who kept describing themselves as goofy and a funny guy but that was not my perception of them at all (I found him too straight-laced tbh!) . I'm usually now suspicious of folks making declarative statements about their personality haha

Honestly, I feel the same. When someone describes themselves as an "empath" I automatically know that they are not!

I recently went back and watched the very beginning of their relationship and from that beginning, Ed immediately began pushing to find out what he could get away with when it came to Liz. He tried to kiss her when she’d expressed it would be too soon. He kept pushing for her to let him call her his girlfriend when she’d expressed it would be too soon. She herself says she felt pressured to move in when she felt it was too soon. I of course understand she has her own responsibility to speak up for herself and set boundaries with consequences to when they’re broken, and she hasn’t held to any of them from what they share with the audience. But ultimately I’m just saying Ed has been disrespectful and manipulative from the beginning and I just kind of wish he would either change asap or go hide away on a remote island where he can’t hurt anyone 🫠

As someone who has felt enormous empathy for Liz the whole time I've watched this couple, this season has been strange to watch. We've seen a lot more of Ed's abuse not only towards Liz but to other cast members. We've seen that Ed cannot function socially with the other cast members. And we've seen that Liz seems to find him genuinely funny and enjoyable to be around sometimes. What he calls his humor is so deeply unpleasant to me, and clearly to the other cast members, that I'm sort of at a loss on how to respond to her enjoying it. My pain for her grew but also eroded seeing more into what she does like about Ed.

I feel it's a placating response she's learned from being abused. She chalks it up to "humor" and "eccentricity" on Ed's part because admitting she's being victimized is very scary. Minimizing and justifying his horrid behavior feels safer to her than what she imagines confronting him or leaving him would be like. It is also a reaction to living in fear, to feeling demoralized and powerless. If she explains his behavior as "that's how he is" then she doesn't have to consider the actions SHE could or should take in response to his.

@@irairod5160 I absolutely agree she does this. I feel like on this show we've now seen her genuinely laugh at him and enjoy him though that seems to happen when they've been drinking. Maybe the genuine laughing is still essentially being in the placating mindspace.

I looked back at the Lordakeet interview on Daily Soap Dish and your point on his humor gets me thinking it's like that same pattern, what Lordakeet would call grooming. Believe it or not, Lordakeet disclosed that her first day of work at Ed's architecture firm, mind you as an unpaid intern who needed them more than they needed her, he introduced himself to her by putting his arm around her head in a headlock grip, that's the type of humor he approaches with, just seemingly innocent at first, but calculated only to be realized later on!

Its funny how it goes with COVID now. In the Netherlands, where I live there are no recommendations or anything anymore except for in hospitals and places like that. However, right this week my boss went to the office while he had it and now half the team is sick. Its like, a good moment to stop and think what's allowed and what's smart

I wish Liz would finally get it- this is not a good relationship for her. There are tons of men out there. And being healthy alone is way better than being repeatedly emotionally punched by Ed. You can do so so much better.

It even if everyone has a 3% not great mode-there is such a range in the 3% where it can cause little damage and the partner is ok. To extremely damaging. So, the 3%s are not equal!

Sometimes, when Ed would talk about "his hunour" I would yell out loud WHAT HUMOUR!? This man thinks he's funny? That's not the biggest problem, of course, but it perplexed me to no end.

Ed derives pleasure inflicting mental & emotional pain on Liz. He is an Abuser and so is Angela. I myself in many people I know that I’ve had horrific traumas throughout. Their lives are not like this. I wish you would stop sugarcoating and making excuses for this man. He is a horrible human.

I try to keep in mind that this is Dr. H’s job. He is almost always responding as a professional vs an individual citizen. It’s no different than how most people have to show up in corporate life vs their personal life. But yeah, sometimes I wish he could break out and rip Ed a new one 😊

I agree.. Also, Ed seems to be the only person who makes Dr. Honda swear! Haha! Ed and Angela clearly get under his skin (and all of our skins as well). But he has to remain professional, otherwise, he could face lawsuits and no one wants that! I definetly want him to keep making these videos. They are so educational.

My heart goes out to Liz. She appears to be so young and inexperienced with life and having inappropriate relationships with toxic and narcissistic people such as Ed. I also agree with Dr. Honda when he suggests they both need therapy - separate and couples. Seek professional therapy. If not, then they should go their separate ways and live their own lives apart from one another. Good luck to both of them.

Liz looks worse with every episode. You can see that Ed has drained her of her vitality and health. He is abusive and NO ONE should be supportive of her staying in this abusive relationship. But we know he'll never change, Liz will continue to take it and will end up marrying him.
