Objectivity - For a psychological or educational test to be called good, it is necessary that it has the quality of objectivity. Objectivity refers to the interpersonal agreement of the testers. When there is objectivity in the test, the tester has his own wish, prejudice, bias, etc. The effect of the test is not affected.
Objectivity in the psychological test is of two types -
(i) Objectivity of items, and
(ii) Objectivity of writing of scoring )
( i ) Objectivity of items : Objectivity of items means that the items of the test are such that all persons can draw the same meaning from it. One can be when all the items are written clearly and in the simplest terms, that is, there is no ambiguity in them. Not only this, the training for complete objectivity in the units is the test constructor of these units. Unit analysis ( item analysis). Item analysis is a statistical methodology by which the units that are not good and those that do not serve the purpose are sorted out and only those units which are good and serve the purpose of that test.
(ii) Score - Objectivity of writing or marking - Objectivity of score writing or marking means that the score writing of the units should be done in such a way that the examiner's own prejudice affects him. Couldn't In order to maintain objectivity in the writing of marks, the test constructor prepares a definite answer for each part and at the same time a fixed number such as +1 or +2 etc. And on giving any other answer (which is wrong) in place of that answer, there is a provision to give 0 or 1 or - 2 marks. By making provision of this method, the score writing or scoring becomes completely objective and the tester's prejudice does not affect the score.
