Anton Thumann was born on 31 October 1912 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, then part of the German Empire. From 1930 to 1933, Germany faced a grim reality. The global economic depression had devastated the country, leaving millions without work. The widespread unemployment, coupled with the national humiliation following World War I, fueled public discontent. Many Germans saw the parliamentary government as weak and ineffective in addressing the crisis.
Anton Thumann was among the millions of Germans who believed that Hitler was Germany's only hope, and in April 1932, he joined the SS. On 30 January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany by President Paul von Hindenburg, and in May of the same year, Thumann became a member of the Nazi Party.
He then served as a guard at Dachau, the first regular concentration camp established by the Nazi government in March 1933, less than two months after Hitler became the Chancellor.

Thank you for bringing to light reality of German Nazi concentration and death camps. Please note the disturbing difference in numbers. There were up to 30 000 SS guards (male and female) "working" at the subcamps and camps like KL Dachau, KL Majdanek or KL Warschau. Yet only tiny part of them were taken to justice. Here we hear that there were up to 20 SS guards on trial. What about the rest? Why this is important, still important? A few years back a relative of German SS officer that participated in massacring between 60 000 to 120 000 Warsaw civilians in August 1944 demanded removal of this SS officer description as war criminal at exhibition of Warsaw 1944 Uprising Museum. The relative claimed that as the SSman was not convicted in trial so nothe can not be described as "war criminal". So 80 years after end of German-run genocide more and more Germans dare to claim that SS, Polizei, Wehrmacht troops members have unjustified, undeserved bad publicity. What will come next?

I believe the Narrator said 1 Million were killed at Majdanek. That is the Russian figure. However the OFFICIAL Polish figure today is 70,000.

No way a Million killed at Madjanek. Treblinka & Sobibor combined never Murdered a Million Bodies & Madjanek wasn't on the level of the 2 above.

ALBERT PIERREPOINT's AUTOBIOGRAPHY 1974 was one of the books we read at College, in preparation for a class debate on Capital Punishment. A very revealing and prophetic book, written truthfully and from his own personal professional experiences. His Father and Uncle were hangmen before him. He hanged appx 600 people during His career as UK's last Executioner. He hanged one murderer-James Inglis in 7seconds from cell to 'drop' He was called to Germany to continue the hangings of Nazi Criminals because the American hangman being used was inept, causing distress to those who had to witness the punishments. In his autobiography he gave his opinion on the subject of capital punishment " hanging is said to be a deterrent.I cannot agree. there have been murders since the beginning of time and we shall go on looking for deterrents until the end of time'

I've read the narratives of two holocaust survivors who mentioned being in contact with this thin-skinned bully; they both mentioned that Tuman (their spelling) was apprehended by a gang of Soviet soldiers and inmates after the liberation of Birkenau and beaten to death with heavy implements such as shovels, axe handles, etc....

OK, I've heard this far too often, None of those people carried revolvers, it would most certainly a Walther semi-auto pistol. The only German I've ever seen with a revolver was Goering and that was an American Smith and Wesson.

Technically a handgun is just called a handgun.

@@ericklein5927 And a revolver is a revolver as is a semi auto is a semi auto, two different fire arms. The guns in this video were clearly stated as 'Revolvers' no mention of 'handgun' accuracy should be paramount in these types of video, as one may well wonder if there are any other inaccuracies here .

"Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland" is one of the most important books on the Holocaust. These were just mostly small town police and functionaries recruited into service in Poland who got used to mass murder, torture and unimaginable cruelty. You look at their ordinary faces and it baffles you.

Rudolf Höss "Kommandant of Auschwitz" is the most important Writings about the Holocaust anywhere in the World. He was there from it's inception to the very end, he had a short spell away from Auschwitz doing Desk Work in Berlin but was back at the Camp for the Hungarian Deportations in May 44(could be wrong on Date?) These are the own Words of Höss himself whilst imprisoned awaiting & during his Trial in Poland. I personally have tried to get my hands on it but I don't know if it was ever Printed. It must be on Record somewhere? ✌️🙏

My fiancés Uncle died on April 25, 1945 in the Netherlands. We’re hoping to get more information about how he died. I know this douchebag had a lot to do with up there. It really wouldn’t make me hate Nazis any more or less if we learned how Sgt Albert Feingold died. We’re just curious.

This isn't an "execution video." The execution is literally the last minute of the video. The vast majority of the video talks about the background and history of the named individual. You obviously didn't watch it or you would have known this. 🤦
