That's assuming that you have care and regard for yourself. If a person lacks those things, is it then ok to treat others badly? Some people disrespect and abuse themselves. In that case, abusing others would simply be.... "treating others as you would yourself" would it not? So your claim as to the source of human decency is a bit ridiculous. To wrongly proclaim the fundamental source of human decency, then to say "period" is both arrogant and ridiculous

There are endless programs like this, devoted to nazi criminals while very few focus on the atrocities of the Japanese. In particular the most heinous and cruel torturers of the Japanese Unit 731 who were pardoned by the US in exchange for their data on horrific human experiments. Shiro Ishii and his deputy Masaji Kitano and a staff of 3,000 were all let off without any punishment by General MacArthur after Truman and his top advisors signed off on it. The pardon was issued in 1947 and only exposed in 1982. No apologies have been issued and none ever will for the crime of the century. For several decades she was ashamed of telling people where she was from. BTW: There are Conspiracy Theories that Rinnan was NOT executed, but taken by the CIA to USA because of his wast knowlegede of the Comunist networks of Norway. The story is that he was seen boarding a American seaplane outside Trondheim after his aleged death.
