This video hit me hard too. I've lost a few friends to s* over my half century on this rock. And when I first discovered this video, was shortly after my father suddenly, unexpectedly passed. So I totally totally felt Ren's words of "I don't know how to be me". That loss hit me hard, I was not prepared in the slightest. Still recovering over a year later (I am in therapy, again)
@falsfire26 күн бұрын
As to the healing power of this (and other) songs, for me, I find 'music therapy', putting on music I *know* will bring out the hard feelings, so I can process them. This is one of the songs I listen to for that therapy. Another great one for loss is 'Both Sides Now' by Joni Mitchell. And of course, The Fray's 'How to Save a Life'...

Rest in peace Joe! At the end of his song: "suic." and obviously in :"For Joe". Thats such sad stuff..... Im am so sorry for all the families, friends, and everyone else had to take such a great loss. Hope you stay stable and strong. Rest in peace for all, they took the even greater loss, by losing their lifes. We are still think of you, we are still missing you and we still love you mates. I think rens music and mr. morris makes this a great place to heal.

Though people say Ren isn’t particularly religious, it’s obvious through his music he does believe in SOMETHING. Or he’s reaching for something to believe in. I’m not Christian myself, but in my deepest darkest times I can absolutely relate to the way ren uses biblical symbolism in his music. And why someone WOULD lean on faith. I still love Ren and his music because the references are easy to understand and relate to.

I've been through a lot of therapy with many therapists, and I've talked to a lot of people about their therapy and therapists. A lot of therapists know their stuff, they can identify things well and work through things with their patients, and that's all fine and good, but I just wanted to say that you're a better therapist simply because of your empathetic nature. A therapist can sympathize with a patient, but that doesn't feel the same to a patient as a therapist who can empathize with them rather than sympathize with them. You can put yourself in another's shoes and accurately feel what they must be feeling in whatever thing they're going through, and that is a rare thing to find in therapists.

Please keep the Renactions coming cause I am so here for your journey down the rabbit hole 🐰🕳️ I’m sure plenty of people will tell you to react to the trilogy of tales in the correct order, it is often overlooked that there are a few other songs best done in order of release (though doesn’t have to be in one sitting): Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe. Also just gonna re-recommend one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.

"Intellectualize pain" Such an eloquent phrase. I know that mad struggle to find answers, to alleviate suffering. As Ren does, for many years I tried everything with few permanent results. The only thing I know is that you never stop being you. Ren is the alchemist who turns pain into poetry and expression; that's why I love him. As always, an accurate analysis. As you told me that you studied classical guitar, I am going to dare to recommend you to a Spanish countryman, not to react, but otherwise to see his extraordinary precision with a ten-string guitar. In another style, flamenco, you have the great Paco de Lucia (Keith Richards said of him: There are three guitarists who are at the top, and above them...Paco de Lucía) I can recommend a long list of rock, blues and jazz guitarists, but I'll spare you that because I assume you know them all. You know the best? I don't know how to play a single chord. Thanks for your reaction.

Thank you for another great interpretation of Ren's work. I had not thought about the round as an expression of an echo and emptiness before and now I'm wondering how I missed it. That little insight blew my mind! Since Ren brought up the Devine, I too will make a mention. I think humans along with the rest of creation are reflections of our source, so when we lose ourselves, we may try to recenter our reflection back to its origin, searching for where we connect to everything else. As above, so below, so "God" is our built-in GPS system... even though it's almost always just searching for a signal. When humans feel lost, we try to reorient by looking to the stars for perspective. We're just hardwired that way

I love this song for many reasons, but I especially relate to the concept of not knowing how to be me. My CPTSD began at 13 (potentially earlier but haven't uncovered that yet), so I kinda missed that window of development where we learn who we are (or at least where we begin to). I've always felt like an empty vessel and I look for other people and things to label me and give me purpose. Do for me, it's less forgetting how and more never knowing.

Yous is one of the best reactions to this song that I've heard. This is not the bridge that Joe jumped from. Its most likely in Brighton. Please react to the tale of Jenny and Screech. Do the video that includes all three stories Jenny Screech and Violet.
