Just a bit of further information, Warrington is in England, it's between Liverpool and Manchester, it just happened to be carried out by Northern Irish paramilitaries. The Cranberries were on tour and I think doing a gig in Manchester or some nearby city at the time it happened. Also, all those shots of the kids playing and the soldiers weren't actors, they literally just brought a camera up to Belfast and shot what was going on around them.

The most beautiful monster of music of 90s that i have ever seen❤ Her melancholic voice says a world of reality and this is so captivating. Live performances of the cranberries are so good!

Suffer for others, everyday. Dolores gave a cry - a keen as it were, to the IRA to stop the violence. And, according to many, the settlement was borne from the response to this song/video. RIPower, Dolores.

One of my dad's oldest friends was a clinical psychologist with all the appropriate credentials plus. His specialty was music therapy. He worked for some time at a state prison for the criminally insane. Oh, the stories he would tell us. He could make you cringe, laugh, cry and hope. And he mixed a darn fine martini. My take-a-way from knowing him, the power of music to influence the human mind, is immense and still not fully understood. Peace.

This was a hugely impactful song in the 90s, it was shocking in its honesty and spoke to millions and it doesn't matter what their politics, religion or history was. It was released in reaction to the children killed by the IRA bomb in Warrington, England and while The Troubles raged on in Northern Ireland. So many years, so much suffering, so many innocent lives damaged or lost. I speak from first hand experience. This song carried the a collective rage and frustration and shoved it out in the open at a time when opinion could incite violence and division was the norm. We are lucky enough to now live in a time of relative peace, but not enough time has passed for anyone to forget. Peace is never finite, it must be cared for, observed, respected and protected by all sides, Thank you for reacting to Delores at her finest.

I would love to see your reaction to Rise Against. Rise Against has a lot of songs about topics most musicians don't cover. Especially Rise Against - Make it Stop. This song is about bullying in schools Other recommendations: Rise Against - Hero of War This song covers war in the perspective of a american soldier Rise Against - Prayer of the refugee Also very emotional and a topic i never seen in a different song I'm absolutely sure that you will appreciate their messages, lyrics and videos. Their music/sound itself is also very popular

I grew up in Ireland in the 80s and 90s and saw first-hand the troubles. Also, my uncle was taken away in the middle of the night and held without charges for 3 days. He was accused of being in the IRA, but he wasn't. The troops did a number on him, and a few years later, he was warned that if he didn't leave the area, he would be taken out, not metaphorically, but literally, by UDA members. My uncle was a good man, a paramedic, and he fled with his family, completely cutting off ties with us all. It wasn't until this year, February, that he passed away, and I was actually informed about the funeral. Over 25+ years, I hadn't seen him, and attending was hard for me. I guess I'm still angry at the individuals who drove him away. Also, my family is Catholic, and with it being against men in the UDA, who were primarily Protestant, there was some bad blood between both our faiths. Like she sings about 1916, which is very important (referring to the) Easter Rising, and from that day, we have been fighting ever since. Of course, our history totals 800 years if you wish to be technical, with lots of significant events and people, but it's always a great tragedy when innocent life is taken.

I agree with you on everything. Great and shocking message about how we let violence emerge without control, with irreparable consequences. Dolores, with that peculiar and beautiful voice, is supported by a tremendously solid band. I definitely notice your good musical taste; John lee Hooker, Van Halen, kiss, the great Stevie Ray Vaughan... By the way, in a rap by Ren he mentions Django Rinhardt. Culture does not understand ages. Thank you.

Fa facing debilitating, chronic illnesses that leave a body incapable of every day things is the greatest struggle for me. I’ve learned so much about my management and the neuroplasticity of the brain. Creating new scripts and repeating them daily. I practice mindfulness being in the moment and connecting to my body and the present and what it’s speaking to me. But how do I try new things? How do I practice self-care how do I connect with others? I need new passions, new dreams and not focused on my old ones. I just wish I knew how.

Bad Wolves did a revamp of this song a couple of years ago. They were going to do it with Delores (The singer) of the original. But unfortunately she passed before her flight to do the new song. They did it anyway.

Bad Wolves did the cover as themselves but we were robbed by not having Delores reprise her iconic vocals - it's still an excellent homage, both the cover & the video - well worth checking out

It's an incredible version but the lyric changes they made still fucking annoys me... I know why they did it and I respect it but it just doesn't hit the same without that reference to history that was used to justify what would later come to pass.

It’s true, like we are desensitized to violence because there is a constant flow of it here on planet Earth Man great reaction ! Cool to watch this one for sure. Such a powerful song. She passed away in 2019, she was my favorite singer. Dolores also has her own solo album that is her most intimate album she once said her self. We will see about having you check out a song at some point .Also the footage of the soldiers and stuff is real

An incredibly powerful (protest) song. Whilst the broad context of it was around the senseless killings of the Irish Troubles, and the trigger for the song was the deaths of two children in the Warrington bombing of 1993, I enjoyed your fresh perspective which effectively defused/disarmed those aspects and made it focus on the broader mental health issues. A clever and thoughtful reaction - thank you
