1st time I heard "...and the devil cried" at the age of 17 I barely stand it for a few seconds... 6 months later I gave it a 2nd chance but still 1,5 min was all I could listen. I just couldn't get the music...! 2 years later I put the CD for the 3rd time... it didn't came out of the CD player for the next 2 months!!! Since then they are my favourite band. They changed the way I understand music and songwritting. I'm not copying them, they're unique. They just gave me a different point of view!

I can second this. I really got into PW in 1996 with - of all things - Bleeding. I kinda worked my way back, although I knew the band since Everflow which has been praised by German press. And even once I had worked my way back to Everflow, I could only palate very tiny instances of A Social Grace in one sitting, let alone listen to this record in its entirety. However, it grew on me, very slowly, eventually. This is one of my favourites cuts.

I remember the first time I heard this song. It literally gave me shivers and certain parts made me tear up. Still has that effect.

419 likes.....to me, this track is one of the pinnacles of human creativity. It blows Metallica out of the water. It blows Jethro Tull outta the park! Hell! It even blows Dream Theater into another dimension! I could write an essay on the merits of this song alone....melodically, harmonically, rhythmically.......WOW...FUCKING WOW.....It hit's hard, it fascinates the mind, it soothes the soul, it tickles the intellect, it grooves like you would not believe.....it taught me EVERYTHING I know about music......
