What kind of salaries are expected for the jobs on a cruize, do you get tips and if yes how much?
@JohnGleasonComedy7 жыл бұрын
The salaries are based on weekly and monthly pay rates. Some jobs are tipping and they would generally have a lower salary as they work off tips. There are all differences in pay scales and then each cruise line may have a difference in pay scale as well.

Hey John, I have a quick question for you. I've done the homework...stared in the mirror for hours and hours contemplating whether or not it's for me. I'm joking of course (or am I)... Anyway in all seriousness, I am serious about trying my hand in cruise ship employment, in a guest relations role. My only concern is that I have a tattoo on my forearm (it's not anything offensive or tied to something negative and I don't have a tattoo sleeve). I am just concerned with it conflicting with uniform dress code. I feel I am qualified for guest relations, I'm currently in a hotel front desk managerial role and my past employment has always been customer oriented as well.. I actually used to work down the street from the Cape Canaveral cruise terminals. So my biggest concern is my tattoo. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

certain cruise lines have a certain look book they need you to follow. I know Disney is very specific about facial hair an hair length. As for Carnival (My personal experience) Depending on the job you are looking to apply for, if you already have the hair grown and its neat, they will let you keep it as long as you keep it neat. You cannot grow it while on board though.

Regarding that kind of stuff its hard to say. I know they look into all kinds of employees, but regarding a disability i think they would consider them if it did not hinder their ability to assist in the event of an emergency. Thats the big thing regarding a persons physical ability.

Not everyone has to dress formal. Backstage crew you wouldn't be dressed formal. Amoung alot of other behind the scenes workers. So I beleive you were wrong sayung that.
@JohnGleasonComedy7 жыл бұрын
im not sure you understood what I meant. Anyone that has to go into guest areas or work in guest areas will need to have a Formal attire on those designated nights. Also, if someone who never works in guest areas and is mainly working behind the scenes gets a chance to have a night out in guest areas (They give this away as prizes for doing a good job) then they will need to wear formal attire. I have known crew members who work housekeeping, not bring a suit and then win team member of the month. They then get to have dinner in the dining room with the captain and go see a show and enjoy a night off. They needed to go and buy a suit in port because they didnt bring one. You may not need to ever wear it if you work behind the scenes, but bring one just in case.
@pipeorganfan267 жыл бұрын
You SHOULD OF made that clear instead of saying what you did. That is very confusing. Just keep what you want to say SIMPLE.
