Probiotics. I learned this while in my first contract. Eating out in ports and eating a lot of different foods onboard..my body needed better digestion so I packed 6 months worth

Agreed! I have travelled all over the Far East and absolutely swear by the local yogurt at breakfast. Alternatively, I take the YAKULT® probiotic drink. This product is often available from vending machines in public places. By doing this, I have never had a case of the shits, whilst overseas. Nowadays, I would probably take probiotics in tablet (pill) form. Taken last thing at night, avoid hot drinks (which kills the probiotic) works best for me.

I watched this video before my first contract a couple of years ago. I'm about to start my 3rd but I've been home for a couple of months so I thought it was time for a refresher to see if there's anything I missed. I pack like more of a minimalist but there were definitely some helpful tips I almost forgot. It's also interesting to see how the different departments have different packing needs.

good video...have fun on the ship...one tip,please pack footwear in showercaps or ziploc bags with dryer sheets ,so it smells good and does not touch your clothes...:)

What about taking a second bag and making that one a folding bag? Then you could fold it up and store it inside your suitcase to save on space!

Quick question, you mentioned bringing the backpack on the plane. Does the cruise line pay for your plane ticket to the location of the boat? If that makes sense lol

Yes they do! And usually you arrive the day before, and they will pay for a hotel night too

Do they pay the first flight for your first contract too? I’m in talks with an agency and they told me I must pay for my first flight, but then the rest are paid for after that.

I could tell from your accent that you're in entertainment. I was a RCCL casino dealer and it was great to have the extra time off because you can't open the casino while in out. You Carnival people must have bigger cabins than we do. I could never have fit that much into my dinky cabin.

Mohammad Abdul Hussain there was WiFi on the ship, so I could use my phone for that, but it wasn’t toooo strong. So anytime I was in port I would go to local coffee shops for WiFi.

Kaleidoscope world Hi there! I've worked on a ship and yes you can bring big bottles of those and you can put them in your check in luggage. The water on the ship can be very brutal on your skin and you will feel dry like the sahara dessert. Bring your most potent moisturiser and something to take care of you scalp and hair to avoid having dandruff. Oh and lotion!

There is a closet and drawers :) You have a cabin that fits 2 people. You can use the spa on board to get your hair done!

Isadora Melo hi love! Aw thanks for watching!!! Yes you can definitely bring a hair dryer and curling irons. Just make sure to never leave them plugged in, even if they are turned off because they might get confiscated in that case :)
