In this video, I explain how Psykers work in the Horus Heresy and discuss the powerful psychic powers that they bring. These unusual characters can change the way that battles are fought, and look really awesome while they do it (at least in your head!)

Great explanation, although now your perils are against the unit. So when you fail a Psychic test you can spread the Perils of the warp wounds to other models in the unit your psyker is attached to.

Something worth mentioning, the Librarian consul upgrade says that you get to replace a power weapon or a bolt pistol with a force weapon for no additional cost. So you can actually replace your bolt pistol with a force weapon and keep your chainsword, and you basically have a free force weapon

Loving these videos explaining how the concepts work, just want my books to arrive now! Would you be able to done one on morale? Including the modifiers like pinning? Going to be making my HH army 8th legion and really curious how much morale and generating fear features in HH as in 9th ed 40k it's a nothing burger.

Nice video man, always good to have another eyes on the rules and explaining them. Your mic and general audio quality is nice too, easy to listen to! Any tips on using Outrider squads in Horus Heresy, in Blood Angels? Torn between running them stock with a power sword sergeant, or going all in and giving power swords to everyone.

I’d definitely take more power weapons. Although you can always leave one or two guys with chainswords depending on the unit size, for some variation and also so you have someone to take the first bullet(s)!

There are quite a few squads where every model has the character sub-type allowing for wounds to be spread out across all of them, potentially you don't have to remove a single model until they are all at 1 wound, think that is where the heal is designed to work

@@Hearesy hmm, seems that there are far less than I thought there were, just assumed there would be more since my Phoenix Terminators have it and they don't usually get nice things, but seems they are only Traitor Legion unit with it, along with the Invictarus Suzerain and the Inner Circle Knights Cenobium for the Loyalists. Gives me something to try out I guess.

I love!! How they you can pretty much upgrade a guy in your unit to be a mini character of a sort, there are many roles as well it is great! just adds to the flavour and of course a great way to be able to convert guys up.

I'm painting my Thousand sons while listening to all your vids. I call the psychic phase "the nerd phase" I really like the way they handled the powers though.

By the way Amon the unique character for Thousand sons has both Divination and Hallucination ;) And since Hallucination is not worded with "instead of making a ranged attack" you can potentially use both Hallucination's power and Divination in the same phase (If i'm not mistaken) Anyway Hallucination can be done at the start of any phase I believe.

Hi there, I'm a bit lost on psychic in HH2. The rules are very compressed. Do you think a Psyker can use his Power in enemies phases? Lets say your Psyker reacts to enemy shooting, can he than cast biomantic augmentation instead of his shooting Reaction?

is there any limitation on how many powers you can cast per turn with a single psyker? Or if certain psykers get more casts than others?

There is sort of no such thing as “powers” in the way we all know them from old editions. They are simply abilities that are used at specific times, so if you have multiple disciplines nothing to stop you from using multiple. As far as Im aware anyway. Psychic weapons are the only thing you can only use “one” of per phase, but again that is because of how weapons work (you can only fire one weapon), not because of how psychic powers work.

@@Hearesy ah I see very interesting so you can use any power multiple times in the same phase? I read the entry in the rule book and just thought it was so odd so I must be missing something but I suppose they are more akin to abilities attached to said character.

Only each power once but if you are magnus or anyone else who knows multiple schools, you can use multiple

Is there any limitation to casting the same power more than once?

“Once per turn, at the start of the x phase” yep. Not on the weapons, but the weapons are just weapons and so follow normal shooting/assault rules.
