Great tutorial i was looking this around youtube and there u are i found it i have the same issue with your pt01 mate.im still using lastmonth then suddenly no power supply coming in my PT i will follow what u did. I give u 5 star!

My pt101 power died even though I've hardly used it. I tried the fix in this video by shorting the 2 joints he mentions with a screwdriver, just to check if I had the same problem, but it wasn't that. Then I used a multimeter to check I had 12v power at the power connector joints which was ok so then I checked for 12v at the switch, this wasnt ok so i checked continuity between the power connector solder joints and the switch's solder joints by follwing the copper tracks on the circuit board, the continuity was dead indicating a problem with the copper track on the circuit board. Next I scratched off the lacquer on the circuit board covering a small bit of the copper track that comes off the positive side of the power connector joint, from there the continuity to the switch joint worked ok. I resoldered it ensuring that the solder spills onto the bare bit of exposed copper track and that resolved my issue. You could also solder a small wire between the 2 joints for the same result. Watch out for hairline cracks on the circuit board tracks as well as dry joints, they could be in different places to mine so just use multimeter to find them.

yes this is a the proper way to fix a broken trace on a PCB.. i have had that issue with a portable as well ... scraping the trace and bridging with solder or using a jumper wire

Hey to add to this. I had a similar issue. The problem was a solder joint from the power I/O plug leg. When the plug is pushed in with too much force it will push the center post of the plug back and put pressure on the solder joint of the leg on the PCB eventually peeling the pad from the PCB. I believe his is why wiggling the power plug will make it flicker or come on slightly for some people until failing completely. Thanks for the heads up on checking for this. I almost scrapped it.

I had an issue with the Power socket next to the switch, i had to wiggle it a bit to get power but now it is completeley dead. I can only run on batteries now, No power adapter. Do you have any ideas or knowledge on fixing this part CJ? thanks man

Same issue here man,, seems like a faulty connection.. It barely works only if I wiggle or push the charger in... Do I have to open up the machine and take a closer look?? any help is much appreciated !

@@CJScratch Same issue, seemed like the DC 12V plug insert was shorted,had to wiggle it to stay on but this time it died in mid show and never came back. IDK if the saudering trick is necessary or can I just switch the whole circuit board from another PT-01 that isn't modified?

Mine works with power adapter but not with batteries. Batteries have not leaked acid inside. Do you think there’s a similar issue on the board?

Soooo was losin my ish when i went to practice just now and power supply wont power up BUT IT WILL POWER UP WITH BATTERIES & switch and red light can be turned off and on like normal. So im guessing its the brdige issue?. Ill look tomorrow and update probably make a video also on this problem but i seen people use a wire to bridge the two points betweeb the positive and switch. Just glad it worked eith the batteries for now i got my practice in but as i read more this unit get issues with the power supply being pushed in to hard causing a soder crack of switch itself losing its contact .. #DOTHFREQS #MTxMagicc

yes most likely this is your issue and the wire bridge is your solution .. check for broken traces or for a broken solder joint...

make sure and look at the traces there could be a small break in the trace if so you will need to solder in a jumper wire ... you can always contact me via facebook messenger

Bro I need your help please I pulled my pt-01 out of storage and I’m not getting sound from the speaker, headphone jack or line out. The only sound I hear is from the needle. I opened the casing and everything “looks” legit.
