Great video! I’ve got a 2023 coming in this week and plan to bulk the mirrors. Quick question. With all of that tack solution you used, how did you avoid pre tack and stretch marks? It seems like when I use that much tack it grabs super fast and doesn’t allow me to stretch much without getting some distortion
@DriveProtected Жыл бұрын
Great question. When doing your pre-stretch, make sure you are just using slip solution. Only use tack once you’re ready to lock it down for good.

Can i ask what is the problem when i cut the ppf it shrinks back a bit and create fingers?? I do stretch the film well and used tack solution. Problem of the film?
@DriveProtected2 жыл бұрын
Fingers are caused by having too much film in one area. Sure you may be able to get the fingers down temporarily, but what you need to do is spread that film out so its down flat before squeegeeing. Hope that makes sense!

How long do you wait before trimming? I waited 1.5hours in the past although the film keeps lifting up after a couple of hours. I make sure not to pass any curves and make sure the film is flat as possible and also post heating edges?
@DriveProtected Жыл бұрын
I always leave the film for a few hours or even overnight before trimming. And I always post heat the edges before and after trimming.

Hi Eric, is too much stretching can make the film thinner? And lessen it’s protection abilities? Let’s say against stone chips, etc.
@DriveProtected2 жыл бұрын
The more you stretch the film, the thinner it becomes, so yes, the protection would be not as much in those areas.

Sorry man but it kills me every time you slap the squeegee down on the hood of the vehicle. Good practice is to never lay any tools on anyones vehicle. Besides towels. You slapped it down 4 times that I counted. If I was a potential customer of yours and seen this video I would go somewhere else. Just words of advice. You may know a lot more than me about PPF but this is something you need to work on. Love watching your videos other than that though bro. I own my own business and just now getting into PPF. These videos do help! Just please don’t use the car to hold your tools lol
@DriveProtected2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for your advice! I get what you’re saying, but other than a rubber squeegee and a rag, nothing else gets out on a vehicle. There’s no issues with a soft rubber squeegee being put on the paint. I’ve never scuffed a vehicle from doing it and don’t intend to start. I appreciate your viewership.🙏
