Oh goodness. I love seeing these types of clean-out videos! The Potter’s House was my introduction to your channel. At the same time it’s sad to see evidence of someone just not being able to cope. But I know you will do your best to make the most of all that this person cared for and kept. Good luck Alex and family!

Me too... I've really missed the treasure hunting part of the process. Plus, Alex has gloves 🧤 this time however, in my opinion he needs to wear a dust filter mask 😷! Masks...is anyone else over them?
@catsmith7234

Alex, You should buy a HEPA Air Purifier and run it in the room you are working in. We can see the dust floating in the air. We've found there's less down time recovering from sinus, lung problems since we've started using them. We love your videos. Added. The units are really portable. We have 3 Winix units. They process the air efficiently and the air that flows out is cool in temperature.

I agree that the amount of dust is concerning, but I think the light on the camera reflects off the dust and it shows up kind of exaggerated especially on camera. If your vacuum cleaner has LED headlights near the floor, and you've ever vacuumed in the dark, you've experienced this same phenomenon with the dust and light. It's bananas how much more dust, hair, lint etc. is visible because of that direct light.

This is exactly what it does for me, in fact, I have started organizing some things and cleaning as I watch and listen. I was getting depressed earlier, but now I am motivated. Sadly, I also would like to go to an estate sale or something, even more, lol 😂😂 which sends me back into the same cycle. If y'all get a smaller house, the key is to never let yourself start to fill it up. It is even harder to sort a smaller house even if less stuff.

I LOVE YOUR HOARDED HOUSE SERIES! Glad to see another! My OCD goes crazy with you getting carried away, though. You go through boxes as they catch your attention, but I'm telling you, you get a room clear (obviously the upstairs living room since it's so clear already) and sort and stage your keeps in there, with empty boxes in a front corner for easy access. I'd be beside myself for an opportunity to get a chance to clear a house like this. You're living the dream!!!

As I'm watching these videos of Alex's most recent hoarded house, I'm struck by how clean everything is, especially areas where layers of dirt and dust would normally accumulate, like edges of floors, kitchen counters, empty drawers, furniture covers, tops of boxes, etc. All those places in this house and garage are clean as a whistle. Not only that, but some of the boxes (like those with clothing) look like they were recently packed and items have not yet settled. Only a few of the boxes (like those with leaking cleaners and old board games) show signs of being stored for years. Did someone clean out storage lockers and move the stuff to this house before selling it to Alex? Would love to know.

@juligriffin6115

He said it had been gone through, but I wondered the same, because no rodent/bug/critter activity so far, and I am pretty far into the video. The fact that there is no evidence of those things or human sloppiness, is crazy considering how full that house was/is, and also it suggests to me that their kitchen isn't dirty, either, because that is usually where bugs enter and then spread everywhere they find more food.. slowly, but surely. Then they all multiply, and more come to join the little ecosystem. These people weren't careless or dirty, just not enough space for what they loved to do.
@DebraJean196

I think the family had put in some time going through the house, but gave up when they got downstairs. That’s when Alex bid on and bought everything. I think the people pretty much loved upstairs in small sections of the upstairs and put boxed items in the other spaces. Many of the boxes were well labeled to - either by the original owners or the family.

You might consider allergy med. or a dust mask for when you're in the closely packed rooms. As someone else already said don't forget to drink, eat and stay healthy. I enjoy these hoarder houses. Your comments are always entertaining.

My immediate thought was clear the garage as it is easy access getting it clear for furniture out the big door. A sorting station there would also make it easier to have charity, rubbish and sell piles ready to move out without having to lug stuff up and down stairs.

I know I'm going to love this series, and love the fact that this house is actually neater, without all the rodent issues. This type of video is the best of Curiosity Inc. and I know you mentioned you hoped you'd get your money back. I don't think you need to worry. That place is a resellers dream. Really looking forward to seeing what else you find.

He can't bring in too many people, because he needs the opportunity to make decisions on what goes, what he keeps etc so he must keep that narrow. Also, at this early stage, having more than two people wouldn't work - there's barely enough room for two people to move around, let alone more. Also, I think he likes it this way - more fun :)

@@hilaryc3203 This place is on two levels and has many rooms. Multiple people can be there and be in different parts of the house. He did that with the last house. He had Hans and Zenovia in multiple places as well as the guy he sold a lot of fur coats alone in the basement and Josh was in and out.

@@vickiecrittenden5552 I see it from my perspective, but he has a system, it works for him. Maybe other people were busy. Or maybe the difference is that in this house, everything is boxed up, clean, no piles of bagged garbage, disgusting fridge to clean. Each box has to be gone through with him making those decisions on the items. How would he look over each and every box with people doing what....in all corners of the house? Who knows, matters not to the peanut gallery. :)

your garbage bill would be almost completely reduced if you recycled the cardboard/paper, & put out a FREE pile daily (including half-used cleaning supplies, broken/repair items, & "expired" food - it's not spoiled unless the can has damage)...we did this when we were packing to move and put all the non-donate stuff curbside (like that cat bed; someone would pop it in the laundry & it wouldn't end up in the landfill)...almost EVERY SINGLE THING (except actual junk, which we didn't really have) went to a new home!

Great. Fun for you and your family friends and viewers. The owners, though bittersweet, are probably very relieved. Kostner auctions is probably happy too. You can put a large pot under the toilet belie the valve handle ( if dripping there) in case someone forgets to turn it off.. It can fill up fast though so check occasionally and make sure it is off and when you leave.
