PART 1: Making myself a denim worker jacket using the Merchant and Mills Ottoline Pattern.
Fashion shouldn't be fast or cheap!
WATCH PART 2 HERE - • PT 2 : Making a Worker...
In this week's video, I am making myself workers jacket out of unbleached denim. I split the video into two parts as I want to share as much of the whole process as I can.
Today I am cutting out the pattern, making the patch pockets, side vents and the topstitching. This is a great project for intermediate/experienced sewers and shows the process of making a garment.

I may be trying to make a similar jacket from M&M(not the candy). I'm using their pdf version of the patterns. Your instructions is already helping with my new sew. Thanks

At 2 mins in, you say - 'cut one pair - this means 2 pieces'. The important thing here is it is a PAIR, ie left and right, so its really important to flip the pattern over, or cut them together, on folded fabric. The difference is having a disaster or not!

Love the video-but you go so fast through the important detailed parts. I.E.: venting can't really see what you are sewing. I understand as an advanced seamstress. Still would love to see these processes close up and slow. As you can see I am very detail oriented. But can live without and will just rerun. You are a great tutor.
