I am making this out of M&M dry oilskin so I liked seeing your video with the green oilskin, which is even tougher to work with at this scale. I am still a little confused about how to fix the sleeve lining to the armhole area. I'll rewatch and stare at the pattern diagram again. Love your fabric lining, too. Envy your heavy duty machine!

I've just ordered some oilskin to make one! I'm excited about it, but scared to do the linings/facings!

This was so timely!! I'm about to start making this coat in their dry oilskin and had been hunting for videos/sew-alongs. Question - I don't have an awl, but I'm curious how you mark the hem in the first step since the intention is to not create holes in the oilskin like you would if you tacked it.. are you able to offer any advice on that one? Thanks and great job on the coat!!

A sharp pencil or some chalk I’d use. Good luck with the coat :) glad you enjoyed the video

Amazing jacket! I'm just about to finish mine. Did you hand stitch the lining to the coat at the hemline? Wondering if I can do it on the machine, hehe ;)

I really want to make this or the ottoline but I'm not sure if it's my style. I've made things that I don't ever wear!

The Ottoline is so versatile it goes with everything! And I wasn’t sure about this one when I was making it but I love it now ☺️

Wow, that’s gorgeous and even though you said one of their easy construction patterns it is a bit of an epic. I am just getting over muscular (Neck and lower back) problems that I stupidly, too late, realised was from sewing for too long, in hours, put it down and walk away for a bit! I do like their patterns but sometimes the hand sketched images throw me a bit🤔 I have a real issue in attaching and pulling through linings..so avoid it, wish you were around the corner! Never sewn with oilskin but the grass green colour looks fab. Well done you. Just found your site first time. Thanks.

Thanks! Definitely agree, I found the construction simple but the hardest part was working with that much fabric around the machine, I found it tough on my shoulders too. What fabric did you use?
