Hill 950? I remember it well. I was the corpsman for the Lt. Roberts platoon out of C company, 3rd Recon, that had traveled by truck up route 9 to Khe Sanh in 1967. The UH-34s would fly a team up to hill 950 and we would intitate the patrol from there. It was amazing to watch a 34 take off from that hill: they would lift up a little and then shoot straight down the mountain. P.S. I have ordered the book. I remember Burwell from Dong Ha in 1966. C and D Companies had moved up there from Da Nang and set up camp at a base that had some old French barracks. A platoon from force was also there. I became the the lead corpsman for C and D when my promotion to HM2 came through. I talked to Burwell a few times, and he had some strange stories to tell about his adventures with Force.

@@budgibson185 Wow! I deal with progressive neuromuscular disease. I suspect it’s very hard for you to stay off the booze and drugs and pot with your recovery. All that stuff is bad news. Have to be so careful with it.

What a time to come of age, and be forced by your Government to be a hired gun and KILL, we need body counts people now get them. it's strange to even try and imagine that way of thinking. Think about it when a kid becomes 17, 18, 19, and even 20, can you remember what out ways of thinking is like, at those ages your day dreaming of conquering, and then all of a sudden, it's not a dream you are training to kill for real and friends are getting wasted, and your being over run, and you still have 12 months left. Then one day you are back in the world all within 24 hours, you haven't even shit out your food from Vietnam.

Hey Bud great show just wanted to let you know that all force recon and seals went to army airborne school at ft Benning until the mid 2000’s now seals have their own airborne school and I don’t know about marsoc I’m sure for logistical reasons they probably go to seal airborne school but when I went through in February 02 we had 56 seals in our class and we had a few force reconnaissance guys I can’t give you a number but yeah until the mid 2000’s everyone from different spec ops went through army airborne school hope that helps brother good show

Oh wow ok. Always confused about that cause several of guys say they were at subic bay to get jump qualified and dive qualified. Yeah guy who was in marsoc told me they now have their own school for jump HALO n such … hope to have another legend on next week. I speak to him tomorrow to test

There were jump schools in Okinawa and scuba school in Subic Bay where unrecon trained grunts went when they joined a recon unit. @@budgibson185
