Replacing a fuel pump is not as hard as you might think. I'll show you how to do it yourself, and save a ton of money on labor!

So many DIY videos are so poorly done with bad language, shaky/blurry camera work, details skipped, etc., that it is a pleasure to see one that is so well done. You are a master! Thank you!

Thanks to D. Ray, he knows how to present a project that is a learning event. I have seen many videos on the internet and this is the best. I was looking for a way to troubleshoot the Evap. Emissions on my 2007 Chevy Silverado and eventhough he demonstrated replacing a fuel pump, D. Ray demonstrated the method I will use. I have watched this video many times to make sure I understood his technique. Again, thanks D. Ray.

Hey brother, Morrilton Ar here. The first time I did a fuel pump, I took the bed completely off. When I had to replace the sending unit, I did the bed tilt method, there's less room but it's so much easier than wrestling the whole bed off. Great video brother!

As a professional tech of over 10 years (still a baby), And 8 of these being a GM technician. I have probably done over 100 silverado/ sierra fuel pumps, both ways. I guess what I'm getting at is I don't need instruction in how to do them. That being said I have seen probably a dozen of your videos and will continue to do so because of how much I enjoy watching you do what you love as do I and have for so long. Your knowledge and attention to detail are paramount. I love that you share it with othere. Keep up the good work D-ray, from a sold viewer.

D-Ray the fuel pump went out on my Hubbys truck. We were almost in a left turn lane on a street that went up hill. Terrible place for the thing to die at. Thank God we had AAA we got it towed home. My hubby works and comes home tired and didnt really want to change it himself, but the quote we got was near 500. That number was a great motivator. I told him I saw your video and I thought we can do it! We ordered the fuel pump and yesterday THANKS TO YOUR GREAT INSTRUCTIONS we did it! The only tough part was putting that chrome looking ring back on. It was like we had to squeeze the "gasket on top of the fuel pump' down before the ring would turn. I ended up doing most of the job because his bifocals werent focusing, LOL. I Did it! I went to bed soo happy. I followed your video and it gave me the confidence to know it was done right! Hearing the monster start up and purr like a kitten was great! Thanks again from So Cal.

Excellent video! D-Ray ! Showing exactly what to do and how to do it in a do-it-yourself style. Many GM mechanics do this the same way. Awesome training series great camera work and full step by step explanation. I bought my 02 1500 4x4 used in August 2010 in December the pump went out. Had it towed to the dealer one day and $1100.00 later it was back on the road with a full life time warranty on parts and labor. Two months ago the sending unit went bad they replaced the pump under the lifetime warranty on parts and labor. They changed the warranty in January 2013 to parts only but documented my paperwork that I was Grand Fathered and covered full lifetime on parts and labor. Chalk up one for me.
