Join me for Part 3 on our "Hiking up to Everest Base Camp Trek" in Nepal whereI try Dal Bhat for the first time and it was love at first bite. Dal Bhat = 24 hour power. Now you know the one dish that helped me power up the trail during our trek. Along the way today, I get to make friends with more mountain dogs and yaks, endure some pretty steep climbs, enjoy more Ginger Lemon Honey tea, visit the Tengboche Monastery just in time for the monks evening prayer and we all get a super uplifting song sand to us by our guide, Prakash. "Sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill." This trek just keep getting prettier and prettier.

Siiiiiiick!!!!!! Now I’m gonna have to start looking at flights. Lol. That’s such a cool hike though! Super badass! Have fun & enjoy.

Happy to inspire future travels! While you're looking at flights, you should also research treks you're interested in doing. I highly recommend Life Himalaya Trekking. They were so easy and amazing to work with. They made all of our trip planning, both before we got to Nepal and while we were in Nepal a breeze: lifehimalayatrekking.com

Nice video to watch, how many months of training did you put in?
@TheHungryHiker2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I started training with my personal trainer 10 months before leaving for Nepal and then I had a big backpacking season this year with hiking over 500 miles. Honestly, all of my backpacking and thru-hiking experiences really helped me prepare for this trip mentally over the last few years. The trail itself and the terrain isn’t super challenging. Hiking at the high elevation and adjusting to a new culture and amenities along the trek were the biggest challenges. With all of my experience along with our guide’s guidance, I felt very prepared.

The Journey gets more interesting indeed! I did notice the change in your voice in the previous video, but it gets better, and the ginger tea helps. I got my first look at Everest from a place called Tiger Hill, which is in the Darjeeling area of India on Nepal's east border. We would take on overnight walking trip just to arrive at Tiger Hill for the most glorious of sunrises on the Everest and Kanchenjunga peaks. I envy you and wish I were there on this wonderful trip with y'all!! Keep trekking girl! You got this!👍

Hi did you get a helicopter down to Pheriche? I’m sure I recognise you all. Me and a Friend jumped on the helicopter after you and then saw you again in lukla airport
@TheHungryHiker2 жыл бұрын
We did! We had to take two helicopter rides to get to Lukla. Our first helicopter ride was from Gorakshep to Pheriche and then our second helicopter ride was from Pheriche to Lukla. The airport closed on us shortly after we got to Lukla so we had to come up with a Plan B on getting back to Kathmandu, which will be in a future video. Hope you had a good flight/trip out of Lukla!

Awe! I wouldn’t say they’re lazy at all. These doggos are taking naps in between their big runs from village to village to visit with their doggo friends. We saw a lot of dogs on the go during our trek. I loved each and every one of them. Also, yaks apparently love shopping for souvenirs along the trek too. 😂 I LOVED getting to see all of the animals out there. ❤️
