Thanks Robin - I’m so bad about not throwing scraps away but particularly wanted to save these ones as they are a lovely little connection to the squares I sent out 💛 cheers, Christine

What a brilliant idea you could display small squares of stitching if you did not do the swap.x

Thanks so much Irene - it would definitely work with your own Stitchery projects and a great way to put them on display rather than keep in a box or cupboard 💛 cheers, Christine

What an ambitious project! I like the idea of a rotating gallery of the swap squares I've received. Might have to figure out how to adapt this idea to my own purposes. 😊

Fun idea! 👍 Calico for us is muslin. Yes, in America we start the calendar on Sunday. Look forward to seeing this come together.
@createandcraftwithchristine10 ай бұрын
Thanks Martha - I always forget the different names! Muslin for us is a very thin gauze. I wonder what call that 🤔 it’s interesting we have different calendars too. Really looking forward to working on this and seeing the beautiful Stitchery swap squares each day. Cheers, Christine

@@createandcraftwithchristine your muslin sounds like our flour sack towel cloth - thicker than cheesecloth, not tightly woven like muslin. I love finding differences in the various countries.

Very clever idea, Christine! I didn’t swap 🥹 but I press flowers every summer. And your project is perfect place for it, year 2024! I have medium sized cork board for the foundation. Love the frixion pen idea on the dates. Are you going to have separate calico page for each month? I like looking back on previous month’s activities. Perhaps a dowel across the calendar to roll over the completed month. Or maybe tuck the completed month upwards (less complicated😅). Anyway, I’ll follow you along. Thank you for sharing this genius idea of a perpetual calendar. Take care. 🌷tess

Hi Tess - thanks so much. Your pressed flower version sounds fabulous! I will have a separate calico page for each month so each month will display 3 Stitchery swaps, so 36 on total across the year. Lots of great ideas from you too. Cheers, Christine

Hi Christine. Wow. This looks like a very ambitious project... but you sure did lose me along the way... I'm totally confused what this is going to look like when finished! But I'll be watching 😃TFS
@createandcraftwithchristine10 ай бұрын
Hi Gaila - sorry to lose you along the way! Here’s a quick recap: I will be creating one calico and felt backed page for each month of the year. The permanent elements (the Stitchery swap squares, the grid, ideas heading, days of week and month name) will be stitched on. Then I will use my frixion pen (which erases with heat) to write on the dates for that month as well as other notes. Because the pen can be erased with heat, I can remove the temporary writing and then reuse the calendar page the following year. But I will share updates as I go so you’ll get to see what it looks like. Thanks again for your watching and commenting. Cheers, Christine
