I graduated from PTA school this week and I agree with Ian about the difficulty of the program. Some classes were a lot easier than others but Neuro was definitely the toughest lol

Ian must be a super smart guy. I have three kids, a wife, work, and am in my final semester of pta school. I have a lot of trouble balancing it all. I'm doing good but it's not easy by any means. I applaud him. Also, yes neuro was terrible. That and ortho in the same semester was not easy. Good video guys!

In the 1st semester of my program. Loving it, the classes and instructors. My classmates are great people and we're already beginning to feel like a little family. But lectures are virtual (due to the pandemic), and I have a 2yr old and a 7mo old at home 5 out of 7 days. Juggling family with school is "a lot." I average 4-5 hours of sleep each night. If someone really finds the human body interesting, gets a high from helping others and is willing to prioritize the program just underneath basic needs/responsibilities than I think this is a great calling. The work IS the reward. But, if you're looking for something easy, cos it's 2 years of school for a decent salary, look elsewhere. This ain't it.

This video really was relatable to me in some way.. I was always wanting to do PTA/OTA but had a few obstacles to like get there but I did end up taking Massage Therapy but that didn’t work out so much so with all those years that I’ve just wasted on trying to figure things out. I decided to just go back to this original plan which is doing the OTA/PTA. For me I felt like it would just be more realistic. Massage Therapy wasn’t as of a realistic career path for me. Thank you for these videos my love for PTA/OTA just keeps growing even more

I’ve heard that PTA can increase their essential pay by getting their CLT(lymphedema) certification. Is this true?

yes, but the place you work at should be taking patients who will benefit your skills. the more certification the better/higher the chance for a raise.

Thats wild they recorded the practical demonstration part... I already get nervous as it is before that portion of the test🤣 I apply into my community college PTA program coming up this spring. I've been following your videos sense the beginning of my journey and I'm finnalllly almost in the program (almost, 2 more required classes before I apply). I’m a high school senior looking to become a PTA when I graduate this year but.... Math and science are NOT my strong suit at all! How much emphasis would you say is on those subjects. I really have a passion for helping people but I’m very intimidated by the course load, and if I’ll be able to even get into the program.

None, there are plenty of jobs out there. If you can't find any jobs in hospital , you'll def be hired at nursing homes, SNF, rehabs, and most definitely, outpatient. No PT , PTA can/will be unemployed. (NYC)

If i want to jump or advance into PT after 2/4 years PTA college. @@harumis5402 Because Medicare is decreasing reimbursement for PTA AND COTAs. Companies are not paying anymore. 2022, PTA and COTAs will be reimbursed 15% less than they are now for outpatient. That means bye bye outpatient jobs. believe me, it's not looking good and will get worse!
