When placing a part, if the part is not fully constrained, the system, usually by default, offers an "allow assumptions" option. This will finish placing the component based on the best, or first placement options selected. If you off the allow assumptions check box, you later manipulate that part for movement or visual clearance check. Its a useful thing to be aware of.

Is there a way to create key mappings for CREO ASSEMBLY to execute options COINCIDENT and DISTANCE -- you couple two parts in an assembly, based on an axis, and CREO defaults to something, usually distance. With a push of a keyboard button, C makes it COINCIDENT, A is ANGLE OFFSET, P is PARALLEL, N is NORMAL, X is CENTERED and so forth... Is there a way to do this? Thank you very much!!

Hi, you can create new mapkeys as you need (here is the tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIazYYiqoaygpdU) In default creo configuration is not set as you need. My sugestion - do not use only one key button (I use always doble keys - e.g. AO as Angle Offset, or OP as Open Part) If you use only one Key .. e.g A ... the you can not use AO .. because A would like to run defined commands for A mapkey and O ... will be not acccepted for AO Best regards, Vladimir

@@4kside Vladimir, thank you very much for your quick reply, I watched your tutorial, but it is way too advanced for me, I could not understand what nd is, and I could not get anything from that tutorial. What I could use, at my level ( absolute beginner), is an assembly that starts with two parts (one default, one to be added), and a simple, vanilla CREO 3.0 fresh install, no other configurations added bu the users to the config file. My list of shortcuts can be of two letters, no problem: Angle Offset = AS, Coincident = CD, Centered = CX, Distance = DS, Parallel = PL, Normal = NM and so forth...

Is it possible to change the position of the 3d dragger relative to the model?
@4kside2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question but the dragger is possible to move only if you use flexible modeling features (not possible to set new location in an another modeling or assembly features)
