A webinar covering Ptex painting workflows in Mudbox. Texture painting in Mudbox is fast, easy and powerful. The Ptex format, originally developed by Disney, allows for the rapid creation of high-resolution maps, without any UVs. This is an excellent way to work in any texture pipeline, regardless of UV layout. Once texture painting is complete, the entire painting workflow: all channels, layers, layer masks, groups, etc. can all be transferred over to the new UV laid-out mesh. This is more powerful than just baking as it preserves Artist history and transfers it between assets (even if completely arbitrary). Combined with the powerful layering system in Mudbox, this non-destructive painting workflow is a powerful tool for any texture painting pipeline.
