You cannot understand how much I loved this! I have always wondered how you guys do it, archimedes maybe, I thought blender for a while until I saw the building place, and now I can see everything! THIS IS SO AMAZING! I started playing in around 2020, and I was immediately fascinated by the game! Now a lot of devs go through this process this good, fast, and actually shows the controls and examples, even the casual developer tricks! LIke when you negate and union, the face becomes the colour of the negated part, bro tysm for teaching me all the tricks! I will deff try this method for fun one time! Love to see this, keep up the good work! ♥

As a fellow CSG modeler this is actually inanely useful. While I don’t model planes, a lot of these tips are super useful. Quite reassuring to see I already knew a lot of the key binds mentioned but I’ve definitely learned a few new things which should help speed up my work! Many thanks for this tutorial James, also can’t wait to see the new models, I’m sure they’ll be exceptional!

Wow, that thing from 10:18 until like 15:10 about how to get from a convex to a concave curve of the window at the nose of the plane is such a clever way of doing it. I woulda tried (and failed) to line up the vertices of two negation blocks where the curve becomes concave, and invariably ended up with an unweildly jagged edge. That way of doing it as two seperate curves and unioning them later is such an elegent work around! I shall be sure to impliment these tips next time I'm in studio

Why not learn mesh modeling and do that?? It's far superior, it can make much more detailed aircraft, and WAY WAY WAY BETTER topology (meaning more optimized), amongst other things. The only downside is not having perfect interior collisions but this can be fixed by making new collisions for the aircraft. Edit: Union modeling is also outrageously tedious. Why put yourself through this torture?

mesh is better and easier and this is more complex and hard for ppl who dont know what union and negate parts are, and maybe hard to do all these things at front and back part, but im just saying doing mesh planes is best way but ptfs is old game and maybe want to be retro style and not that detailed or just avoid lag so they do csg
