Just awesome!!! Congrats Europe and congrats to all the athletes, truly incredible. Next year this needs to be on ESPN, NBC, CBC. Loved it PTO, bringing some awesomeness during this very difficult time in the world. Lionel Sanders you monster, damn awesome, you flying canuck.

what a privilege it was for me to be in Samorin and witness those 36 amazing athletes and their captains. Thank you for the highlights video... I was watching my own footage over and over again just to see all the details that i've missed live ;-) Great to see the official footage now.

Didn't see as many fans as I expected. Especially with a big race the following day. Weather wasn't that bad was it?
@MySTREETvideos3 жыл бұрын
@@runbikeswim0411 there were a lot of athletes from the next day and their friends/supportes that came with them. However it wasn't crowded you are right.... not many locals from Bratislava were interested to come unfortunatelly. The weather was great (we rented bikes from Bratislava and cycled to Samorin to see the race)

Surprised team International did use a coach's pick for someone like Ashleigh Gentle. Add in a healthy Henri Schoeman and they've got a dangerous team.

One and done! A terrible format for triathlon. Nothing like bringing 36 of the best Triathletes in the sport together only to let a few at a time compete.
@LKeet62 жыл бұрын
completely disagree. the format makes it different. make it a normal format, and it's just another triathlon/iron man event.
@McStoolio3 жыл бұрын
But why do you force non EU athlete to run under the shadow of the EU flag? The EU is not Europe! Its like having a North American team and having Canadians compete under the stars and stripes. The UK more than punches above its weight, least you could do is incorporate the Union flag.
@KilianRO3 жыл бұрын
It's not just the flag of the European Union, but also the "flag of Europe" and the flag of the Council of Europe (not connected to the EU), the organization that was founded before the EU and that all European countries (except Belarus) are members of. So this flag is the only logical choice, there isn't another.
@McStoolio3 жыл бұрын
@@KilianRO why have a flag at all? The rest of the world team made one up 🤷♂️
@KilianRO3 жыл бұрын
@@McStoolio why not use the flag of Europe if it represents all 47 European countries (except for Belarus)? Then there's no need to make one up. The US team didn't make one up either because they have one, just like Team Europe.

This is a very good point.

It didn’t look like anyone felt forced. The UK athlete mentioned more than once how important it was to race for Europe. So the question is, why force an argument that doesn’t matter to the competing athletes?
