Hi all and as requested, an updated look around my little shed in my garden that is converted into a pub bar for myself, family and friends. Any questions please ask in the comments. I give you a few measurements, hints, tips and advice on how I went about converting my shed into a bar. Cheers John , top man ! It was me who asked all the questions on another video and you've answered the lot , many thanks mate . P.S The link shows the led strip light as 10m yet it goes all the way around the shed ,should it be around 30m ? ,and in this weather how long does it take for the electric heater to heat up the pub ? and will the electric bill be through the roof ? i've seen people who are using diesel heaters and they say it costs pennys to run so i'm thinking of that option . Keep up the great work ! you are the only one who explains all the pro's/ cons ,tips and links. cheers Mark

Hi Mark. You are quite correct. Think I bought 2 or 3 sets of LED lights. Amazon not showing my exact order. If you check they should (most do) plug into each other and extend. You can also buy the corners but I didn't bother, I just sort of bent em around the corners. (Edit - I see those can now be bought longer so get the length to suit your shed). Works quite well. Plugged into a Meross wifi Alexa socket, called it strip light. So 'Alexa, turn on strip light' switches em on. All my stuff has a name in Alexa, (bar, strip light, ceiling 1, ceiling 2 etc) then they are all under another name, called 'Pub'. So, 'Alexa, switch on pub' switches on the whole lot! The heater is ok and it warms the bar up in a 'normal' winter in around half an hour, but lately temp so low I've not been down there a lot. To be honest, in winter, well this winter, I have not been there a lot, except for over Christmas. Give it a month or so and I'll be there more. And the heater works great when it cools in the evenings. Not really kept an eye on the electric, but have made an effort to turn it all off this last year for obvious reasons. Hope that helps, cheers Mark. Thanks for watching and subscribing.

@@markking1547 No worries. Just before covid hit us, and before we knew anything about it, and shed pubs were not a thing, a local club near me shut down. They put all the gear on Facebook. I knew the 2 women. I bought that opener, some pub rules signs, 2 pumps and other bits. 45 quid! I should of bought all of their stock! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Gutted. Could of made a fortune.

Hi John thanks for replying to all my questions , i've re- measured my inside sizes again and by the time the walls are plasterboarded or clad in timber the length is 3.9m but the width is 6.5ft ( not 7ft as i first told you) so it will be 2.5ft narrower than yours ,i'm worried it will feel like a canal boat , i could widen it but it would be extra cost and a right chew on , it will probably have 4 people in most of the time except for parties and bbqs etc so doesn't have to be massive but just worried about how narrow it will be....

Hi Mark. No worries. Do what architects used to do, still a great method. Draw the size of shed to scale on paper. Then cut out of card the items you think you'll put inside. Again, to scale. Maybe 1mm = 1 metre or something. So you'll have mainly cardboard bar, shelving, seats, bench seats etc. Then you physically move em around the shed drawn on the paper. Easy to see what goes where. Maybe move a door or bar etc. See if that helps. You should be alright narrower but it's good to see. If your cleverer than that, or you know someone who is, sketchup on pc is good too! Good luck. Cheers. Let us know on what you decide. Ps maybe extend later. See my graham's bar video.

Hi Mark. Thanks for the channel support. Just checked amazon and added link in description. (Or maybe buy cheaper elsewhere). But I bought 2 tins of Ronseal Medium Oak. 1 or 2 coats does the trick. Knowing me, 1 coat. Don't forget to burn the boards first. Think it's in a few videos of mine. Cheers.

Cheers John ,is it definitely the Gloss and not Satin one ?
@LifeofJohnG
@LifeofJohnG Жыл бұрын
On checking amazon orders I've 2 gloss interior bought in March 2020, and 1 satin exterior bought in May 2020. Can't think of anything else I've varnished. Interior in my bar does look glossy. Think you can see that in the videos. But of course, go with what you think looks best. Maybe gloss a shelve or 2 that is hidden. Yep, definitely did bar gloss. And used rest on shelves. Bench may of been left overs, I'm not sure. Good luck with the build. Of course you can use wood stain or whatever you want. I wanted bar to sort of be water proofed. Old granite worktop is always a good shout too. Cheers.
