Man I loved this game so much when it came out, upgraded to a 1080Ti (I had the recommended 6600k CPU) and 1440p Acer Predator monitor so I could enjoy this game more. Sadly the cheaters are what finally made me quit... but it runs great on modern hardware

Also done over 2,000 hours in PUBG, and usually hovered around 60fps; so twiddled my 6900XT settings again recently, and now getting 380fps average now. 1440p but probably something to do with 1080p scaling or some fannyarse; and separately improved my GPU fanspeed to go from 80% max to 100% etc.

The main cause of stutter on the min spec is definitely the RAM considering the fact that on the recommended spec it can use a lot more than 8GB. Because not enough RAM, the system probably ended up accessing virtual/swap memory a lot and it can definitely increase the reported CPU utilization because how slow it is accessing virtual memory (even on SSD) vs RAM. As to why back then it ran smoothly or at least less terrible, besides maybe the update PUBG had over the years is probably because the current Windows 10 is using more RAM vs the older Windows 10 and obviously with 8GB or RAM they expect the user to not run anything in the background, including Afterburner. Based from what I see in the video, assuming it is actually RAM size problem, it is likely that the CPU and GPU is still enough to play PUBG at the lowest setting.

The FX processors are certainly capable of running this game well enough if there are enough cores. I tried playing this on a dual-socket Opteron 6386 SE which was the fastest Piledriver based Opteron they released. So, 32 Piledriver cores running around 3.2 GHz. The game didn't have these hitches and hangs even though the frame rate wasn't great overall.

Thanks! The RTX 30 and 40 series and RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, which were sent by Nvidia, Palit, Gigabyte and Afox. The i5 13600K was sent by Deepcool along with some fans and a case. Everything else was bought by me :)

yes, i have gtx 1650 super, i7 3770 and 16gigs, no stutters, average 120fps, only crowded places goes down to 60fps, but doesnt stutter. In general it is good experience with 3770 :)

On very low settings, the game lags sometimes, despite having a 5800x3D and a 3080 ti. It also has a bug (many do) where your keyboard gets stuck and pulls to the left constantly. Some slow downs occur from time to time for no reason. PC works great in other games.

Fixed Same, 60-80fps, I had issues just like that with my Ryzen 5700X with an RX6900XT but fixed it last week somehow. Ah yes; Re-installed all latest Mo-bo Chipset drivers, AND THEN 'DDU' a Complete reinstall of the GPU Drivers in Safe mode (You have to do that AFTER). Reboot, get out of safe mode, Reboot again, and now 380fps after tinkering with GPU fan speeds (unlocked from the dam unbeknown AMD preset of 80% max, to 100%).

I can for sure say that PUBG is very CPU intensive cuz between my friend and i playing it almost every Day and there is a hugh difference between his and mine FPS in 1440p Max Settings. He has a 8086K and i have a 13600K so a couple of Gens in Difference. He has 80 FPS max in 1440p Max Settings and i have between 160 - 260 FPS so i dont know but yeah PUBG is very strange cuz FPS are bouncing up and down all the Time and it depends which Map it is and Which Part of the Map. We also have different GPUs but i was playin with my 8700k and my 4070 ti before i got the 13600k and i had around 110 FPS if i remember correctly so a strong CPU is very important in this Game.

if you think low settings looks bad, you should see this game on the PS4 (played on the PS5- they made the PS4 version free at some point). It makes Fortnite Competitive Settings look high end. The trees are green globs.

I believe the ram usage is the total system usage, not the game per se. Theres a "ram process" setting in RT

Obiously the little and old gtx 960 can do it better if wasn't for the cpu. This game eat a lot of cpu specially on squads since it tend to be more ppl on the same city areas. I think that the i5 6600k and even the 4430 should do ti fine on solo plays. But for squads, the minimum for today hardware is a i3 10100 or the i5 9400, on amd probably the r5 1600 is quite adecuate. I have the i3 9100f and even tho it plays it decently, there are still some stuttering specially when theres a lot of players around. Some times phase 4 there is like 50 players alive still and all of them are close enough to render so it gets quite heavy on the cpu, not to mention a hotdrop with 4+ squads on the same loot spot. So definitively quad cores with no HT are not enough for pubg on squad matches, they do ok on solos tho.

It would be nice to see the worst/cheapest new GPU available compared to old gems PC games of the PS3/360 era like RX 6400, RTX 3050 6Gb and Arc A310 on games like Bioshock 2, Skyrim, Mass effect 2, Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3/NV, Portal, Dragon age 2, Dark Souls Prepare to die edition, GTA V , CoD4 MW, crysis, etc... 5600 + sell your 1660 super and buy something like 6600 xt or 6700 non xt or 6700 xt. Don't waste all money on cpu. But if you really want 5900x for gaming I recommend you to go with 5800x3d

Actually I'm more amd fun so if you already have am4 motherboard personally I'd go with 5800x3d because it's better cpu for gaming than 5900x. I don't know maybe you are buying it used and you found 5900x for a good price so in that case 5900x is a good decision. BUT 12600k supports DDR5 so if you don't have an am4 motherboard then i5 12600k make sense. Is there any reason why you stuck with choice between 12600k and 5900x? I checked prices, If we are talking about NEW hardware for those money you can get ryzen 5 7500f with am5 motherboard and be absolutly future proofed.
