The very definition of Avant Garde, exquisite music, artistry and talent. Even after so many years, PIL still comes from the future

All of their music has very typical auras of the time they were in. This has an early 90s sound.

i was a little punk on the run in the winter of 1990 i loved the pistols dk slf many years later i first listened to this song in the kitchen of my freezing cold cottage in wales on mdma as that guitar came crashing in my life changed again this is one of the best pil songs the journey is so deep his voice moves from sarcasm to heartbreaking wailing wicked xxxx when he played glastonbury five years ago he dedicated rise to nelson mandela calling him by his true african name in that set he wailed like a banshee in pain amazing all our love to u mr lydon xxxx

***** I really like This is what you Want, and also "9" and "Happy" too. So you know. But it changed after Keith's quit. Yes indeed
@CallampaProducciones9 жыл бұрын
Callampa Producciones Thats truth Pil changed a lot when Keith Quit, But a diference of a lot when Keith Quit. All the albums with Keith are great (First Issue, Metal Box, Paris Au Printemps, Flowers of Romance, Commercial Zone ) But after that, John and his boys realse really good albums (Album, Happy?,) But as always was some Shit albums (This is what you want....This is what you get, Live in tokyo, That what is not) I'm in the middle with '9' And the new Pil with his album ''This is PIL'' is one of my favorites. This '2015' 4 of september they release a new album called 'What the World Needs Now.....' I'm almost sure that it gonna be best than 'This is PIL', But Never knows. Apart from that is the first album of the band with the same line up. Regards form chile :)

PUNK'S NOT DEAD!!!! POST PUNK
@szarzyniecszczurzynski19022 жыл бұрын
It's far beyond post punk. The later PIL albums are frequently spoken of as "more commercial" but I love all of them anyway. You can feel Lydon's personality everywhere in them and more spatial sound/production gives them very much in plus and goes very well with the songs. Great new wave/rock/alternative/pop music from the great band!

" You have the tools to make men fools" 👌 The Radio session version of this is much better. Available on Plastic Box. More powerful. I much prefer early PIL but this is a classic along with Acid Drops. Wish I'd bought the vinyl when it came out instead of the cassette. Vinyls were at an all time low then.
