Couldn’t say it better myself and it’s so obvious. It’s a great lineup of the best public land hunter and KZbin educators. You guys are all about sharing your vast knowledge and techniques about deer hunting. I’m cheering all of you on, if you “win” in taking a buck, it means your skills work and they can work for me too. Thanks for all you guys do. Good luck to all, excited to watch!

Michigander here. Excited to see you guys put your skills to work here so I can learn some more. Was raised hunting in southern Michigan. Living in the big woods of northern lower Michigan now where I walk out my door to hunt. There's plenty of wetlands to hunt in lower Michigan where deer escape pressure. Erie State game Area has massive marshes. Boat only access on Woodtick Peninsula, or walk miles to get to a spot. And boat access can be sketchy. There's another State Rec Area I won't mention. It's got marsh and some massive briarash thickets nobody goes in to. The Deadstream swamp west of Houghton Lake is massive. Good luck!

I love that you and Joe weren't afraid to find land you like for your style of hunting. Even if it meant taking a long drive and getting very little sleep. That shows your dedication to what you love to do. I grew up in the area Joe shot that one. My close buddy was the one riding a bike back in there. Interested in seeing how you guys take on Michigan. Best of luck to you all! Be safe!

I have asked a lot of Michigan people and most of the people will tell you that 100" buck is a monster buck. It would be nice to help the people under stand what a 4 or 5 year old Michigan deer can turn into. Glad to see that the challenge is in Michigan, and hope you all do well and have a safe, fun hunt.

BlueWidow2010 The old school guys are so brain washed that they just want to shoot anything and get their deer. I think it’s turning around for the better but it might take a while before we’re Ohio.

BlueWidow2010 if the buck to doe ratio is that bad in Michigan why don’t they just close the buck season for two years and eliminate the doe population?
@jordanpowell228

Those people who think that a Michigan booner ( 100 in 8 pt ) are slowly starting to fade out and your now starting to get a new age of hunters that will let those young and or marginal bucks walk. The past two seasons on public i passed many bucks in that 1 to 2 yr range and i was rewarded with an opportunity at a true giant. I messed it up but still, that one opportunity makes it all worth it. Michigan has all the ingredients to be good, we just need the " im a meat hunter guy " to kill a doe or two since they are just hunting for meat after all.....
@BlueWidow2010
@BlueWidow2010 5 жыл бұрын
@@jordanpowell228 Well said, and it is nice to here that you got to see a giant. It helps make the sites that you don't see that much easier. Just knowing that there is a chance that a nice buck could walk by. Good luck this year and keep up the good work, it won't be long and you will kill nice bucks every couple of years.

I LOVE winter/early spring scouting and shed hunting. NOTHING about hunting is more fun to me than patterning new areas and exploring. If you're only out to shoot a big buck and gloat don't go in the woods. Buy a canned hunt. Hunting is about shared experiences and learning as well as feeding yourself.

Hopefully your hunting close to or south of 94. Extreme southern Michigan . Game areas + up north shot up by local hillbillies. What about researching place like Yankee Springs STATE PARK . Bill Vale had some utube videos of some real nice bucks. Lots of hikers can equal no hunting pressure. Plus very low pressure in early October. Whoever was talking about 100" bucks must be from up north. Find the tastiest white oaks hunt until last light . Watch out for all the Mountain Lions my friend. Not lol. Last six years 110, 135, 145, 140, 141, & two eights last year from public. I got a boat . Need a taxi? Be cool to meet last years champ. I guess u 2 be alright. Lol

Im over in NE oakland NW macomb countys. Theres very little public till you get into lapeer county. That area you mentioned for as long as i can remember has the most net B&C bucks. State record typicall 199" jackson county, 227" freak was killed in Washtenaw county last year, you can add hillsdale to the list. And Dan might be sand baggin he knows the bigger bucks are down here its just like Wisconson in that sense. Dan If I hunt northern Minnesota lower deer density area and there are more does than bucks is it true there will be less rubbing and scraping because less competition for does to breed?
@thehuntingbeast
@thehuntingbeast 5 жыл бұрын
Possibly... I see less rubbing in low density areas, but I think a lot of rubbing activity is aimed at other bucks and establishing rank and competing against each other for food as well as does. You do get different personalities in bucks to, and some rub a lot, and some don't. I have noticed the 2 to 3 year old bucks lay down a lot more sign than the older bucks. So less bucks, more does, less rubbing, yea in general, but it varys a little.

I would rather see y'all do a late season challenge instead. mybe even put everybody out there with just video cameras you all film. remember it's not about the kill. it's the path you take to get there.
