Well Sir, May God Bless You, for being the sportsman you are, walking it off so to speak, thinking things through before acting upon initial thoughts, you show more character as a true sportsman this way, I cannot say I would have had the same mindset in that situation, I hope indeed that I would, as I do try to think things through before acting, but to have someone follow you that distance to take something that was not theirs is rotten for sure, very glad you got your boat back unharmed, and you not being harmed either. Man glad u was able to somewhat remain calm hard to say what I would of done but once I was sure that was my boat any shells I had may have been flying down that way. I’m in Indiana, I’ll guess a local who spotted it and took advantage. Folks riding 4 wheelers on public land often disregard the rules, commonly coming from adjoining properties. Indiana has many public acres, but non of it is remote. With today’s mobile hunter, and a good hike, everything is accessible here.

I had a gobbler working mid morning on some CORPs property a few years ago and a group riding run him off, when I approached them they acted offended that I would even say something. Rangers were called, and they ignored it and stayed in their air conditioned office.

Good video and glad you got your boat back. Curious though why you felt safe enough to go to somewhere unknown and leave your stuff thinking no one would take it? Seems if you play with fire eventually you get burnt. Had the same thing happen to me with my treestand. I learned. Assumed no one would take it and I was wrong. Don't assume no one will take your stuff.

Damn, you handled that well. Thank the Lord you didn't get stranded and have to walk out from some hell hole. If it was here in Indiana, you unfortunately can't shoot at someone taking your stuff. Deadly force is only legal if youre in fear of great boldly harm or someone else is in danger of it. Although, a dead man cant tell the full story;) My kayak is camo, but i also pull it on shore and cover it with a camo net. Not so much that it doesn’t get stolen, but so nobody knows where I'm hunting when they see me roll in with a big buck, lol! I appreciate what you do to motivate folk's. I watched my dad work and save his whole life to to go on trips, or buy a bass boat. Got cancer and died that same year. I made my mind up then. When im grown, I'm living life every chace i get. Be responsible and put your family first like a man should, but if you get a chance, DO IT!

I would definitely call the local PD to inform them of the thief. And definitely bring along a couple extra trail cameras to set up in places to look over your vehicle or boat while a field. Good luck on the bear hunt!!!

Really sad us hunters have to deal with people like that. Alot of the reason I hunt is to get away from people and make memories with my daughter. And being a father of a daughter that loves hunting and we mainly hunt public land I'm always on alert especially walking back out after dark to the parking lot. Thanks for the great videos!

Me and my father one time was out turkey hunting and decided to not go with all of our gear just go light. I forgot to lock the door on my side of the truck we went into the woods to go chase the turkeys when we got back my turkey vest my father's turkey vest the extra calls that we did not take our decoys and gun cases were stolen. Not a very good day!

Sadly, it aint nothing new. Back in the late 70s, I pulled back.into.where Id been camping during deer season. Was a truck.pulled in, a guy walks out from back.side of my tent, pulling up zipper. Im thinking WTH??? He mutters a few words, jumps in truck.and leaves. After a few minutes, I walk over to.tent and see all the stake loops had been cut. Im a Deputy in South Alabama. Legally you couldn’t shoot him. But I’m not sure I could’ve resisted at 80 yards not dusting his britches and hauling ass to another state.
