Public lecture of Lucan Way: A New Containment? Europe after the Russian invasion

For decades, Western foreign policy thought has been partly motivated by liberal transnationalism - the idea that economic integration with Eastern countries should facilitate peace and political liberalization.
On December 8th, Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto and Co-Director of the Peter Yatsyk Ukrainian Studies Program at the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (CERES) Lucan Way will talk how the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine cast doubt on these assumptions and ushered in a new era of containment similar in some ways to the Cold War.
