With regards to Star Force 2: I was not present for the streams, but I did sit down and watch/listen to them to get the full impression of what was going on. Based on your experience, as well as the overall opinions of the chat... You don't have to make a video on it if you do not want to. If we really put pen to paper and made even an hour long video on this, the only plot points or jokes of note would be: - Sonia making the dumbest move ever - Laughably overpowered buddy boosts... except for the BS final boss - Saving a first people's nation with spare ribs - Vega's twin moons in the anime. You and your chat agreed by the end that this was a game that wasn't even that fun to rag on, because of how little actually happens until the final dungeon. I would honestly say that the best course of action is to cut your losses, and go play Star Force 3, the game literally everyone in the know has been insisting is absolutely worth it - and also a game that basically just ignores that SF2 even happened. Then, if/when the SF3 video happens, you can footnote SF2 if you feel inclined. The whole thing was an experience that was only tolerable because chat was involved, making jokes, learning Japan-only trivia, and getting text-to-speech to finally drop its new mix tape. There's no point in a project if you can barely find passion or enjoyment in it, and we can all (thankfully) agree that nobody's life is tied to having to play Star Force 2 XD

As much as I love the Starforce games, 2 is the most frustrating. What I’d say on the Star Force 2 video is that the main story was slow and it only got good in the last 25% of the game and the Post-Game is actually good with the 2 secret bosses Apollo Flame and General Auriga and the idea of the main character not existing. But I know one thing for sure, John, you will love the story writing for Star Force 3 and it will make you actually enjoy the gameplay and the story (Remember this comment cause you’ll agree with this or at least have a way better impression on the 3rd game)

One idea could be to compare and contrast the game with Star Force 1 and Legend of Network (which does the whole ancient ruins thing a lot better), seeing what it odes better, what it does worse, and going insane at the game somehow having an EVEN HIGHER encounter rate. Or just do a two-for-one with Star Force 2 and 3.

Dang was Really for that star force 2. But I can wait besides I now got an post game and dot/hack video to look forward. Even if not a big fan of battle network or dot hack I still like the videos and in part thanks to knijohn that I actually am interested in these series than I probably ever be. One last thing related to star force I thought that there be an star force post game series because I have heard the post games for the series are pretty good(due to the RPG monger). Sorry for bringing up Star Force it just these games are the first/truly only (outside of BN1)mega man games that I played and beaten also first games I played on my gaming PC. Honestly the best idea for a Star Force 2 video is to have it be an opening preamble for a Star Force 3 Review (like "Star Force 2 Intermission" or something), which would be just 5 or so minutes of whingeing, mentioning the tribe system which has not much other than potentially breaking the game with the white card system, and introducing the only important character introduced, that being Edge Boy Rogue. Honestly you could knock out the plot summary in like 2 minutes, because that's how long it feels compared to the hours of Wave World back and forth. Oh and how Pat kind of just only appears as a cameo and then is never mentioned again. Some people may feel "cheated" out of a real review, but let's be real here, Star Force 2 doesn't deserve much more.

awesome to hear you've worked out the kinks to be sustainable and smart call on just updating what is next up than when the exact date will be plus incentive to become a ear of corn under you cobmandment with the exclusive mini reviews as for Starforce 2 I have a couple suggestions: -make it a under 30 minute video. reasoning: as you've pointed out so much of it is a nothing burger so outside of the new mechanics(even if most are effectively the equivalent as the Autobot Brothers's "Supercharge Mode" from the 2000's Robots in Disguise), the cast of characters and the little story that is worth interest we'll be more than fine if you pump out a very short video -have it contrast with the anime as well your input because as much as I enjoy something its best to have a fair critique than a bias rant/praise plus I enjoy your thoughts even if the total run time is 10 minutes hope this was useful \*hug*

Tbh as someone who never made it to the star force series, don't plan on playing it, and thoroughly enjoyed your video on the first game (and grew a new interest in star force) I'm just here for your videos. Bro my suggestion for an idea work on zero 4 after the BB6 post game your Zero series retrospective is my favorite of all your mega man reviews. and I while I was hoping for Star Force 2 video I can remember it was very frustrating in spite of the few fun elements it had like it because looking back it had great ideas but they never implemented in their full due to the Horrific crunch the team suffered from. But again Star force 3 that is a Banger and you should definately cover that because it refines the first games combat to perfection has great dungeons and an actual plot. I played Star force 2 once but I barely remember it but I have much more memories of 1 and 3 because they are infinitely better.

In the offchance your chronic internet issue isn't a generalized power outage thing, I'm no content creator but did have some problems with our previous provider. The temporary solution was to... have two. In the same house. When one died, we flipped to the other, which worked okay unless the problem was street-wide or something. Wouldn't stop a stream from dying, but maybe it could help at least not being flat out blocked out of work for an entire week? Nowadays, I use mobile data from phone to PC in panic situations, but I honestly have no idea how well those can handle uploads.

@@gabrielg6729 I like Dark Phantom because he's one of the better written purely evil villains in BN/SF, but Rogue/Solo's emo nonsense is tedious, and Vega just being femcel Dr. Regal (with gargantuan Orihimes in her anime incarnation) is dumb. I can only say Vega's femcel ass is better than Regal or ayylmoa Sean from SF1, which is a very low bar.

There's a romhack mod called Star Force 2 not quite dx from the same ppl that did Star Force dx. Among other things, it brings the encounter rate down to normal. If you can't do the game vanilla (i only could once, never again) you can use that instead. Better that than not at all right?

The thing about SF2 is that while the writting was trash, it only improved in the gameplay, honestly. I mean, come on, let's recognize what this game truly achieved, positively: - The transformations were MUCH better in terms of design, abilities and usage with a fairly easy way to get the final transformation, not counting the star command "cheats" which.... yea, kinda break the game because we have the internet. If these cheat codes were at a game in the 90s if wouldn't be that easy to get a hold of them, but nowadays? You can easily break the game early on. - Bosses and characters were, as always, very well-designed, had really solid concepts and identity. Vega in particular had a really cute inspiration in the tale of the Orihime and Hikoboshi (the Vega and Altair stars) celebrated in the Tanabata holiday. And gotta handle to Megaman, having a villain called "Rich Dotcon" is just pure Battle Network cheese. Almost made me nostalgic for Speedy Dave. - Viruses were also well-designed when it comes to the new ones. Same for Battle Cards. - Music, as always, perfectly composed. Even the DREADED Sky Wave is still regarded as having the best theme of the trilogy. - The wave world was once again improved by making it more integrated in the real world, although as I joked before, it's really humorous seeing Geo go like "I must keep my indentity a secret. Oh! A Wave Hole! I'll Em Wave change! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!" - And while you said the dungeons were boring, I REALLY like how they were actualy in the open world! It made SF2 stand out from the franchise as the "dungeons" are part of the world, since the Wave world IS everywhere, not just inside computers like in Battle Network! - The Postgame felt more streamlined with the bosses all accessible through a hub map and hardcore versions of their central maps and the new bosses included were pretty fun and challenging (Auriga and Apollo). Design-wise it was very lacking. The premise of the worst possible scenario and we are met with just a black-and-white version of our world was kinda lame. - The theme of a lost civilization a-la Atlantis was not a bad idea, especialy with the villains themed after mythical creatures, have it been written properly this would still be a banging good game. - Rogue. Great character, so much it was the ONLY thing from SF2 carried over (and improved) on SF3! (oh and there was Phantomas also in SF3 in what people agreed was uttely pointless) - The only positive part of the writting which is the Link Power and people who see it as social status. This game essentialy predicted INFLUENCERS, how weird is that? On that note I REALLY hope you get to enjoy SF3 and post your reviews of these games. Even if you can't write much on SF2, just seeing you RANTING about this game and joking about the stupid stuff for just 10 minutes or so would be enough. And hey, maybe my list of positive points could help you :) Playing Devil's Advocate is something I excell at xD

I see where you're coming from but the issue with channel memberships is that my channel actually isn't monetized. I don't have an approved adsense account and I don't get ad revenue from my videos at all actually. In order to be in good standing with KZbin and have my application accepted by the partner program most of my videos have to fit within the guidelines and... well they don't. A ton of my major reviews have copyright claims due to music or copyrighted footage or whatever. I would also have to tone down my language and avoid any serious topics alongside whatever else isn't considered "advertiser friendly". Unlike many larger KZbinrs I don't have a network to help me argue these sorts of issues and file counter claims to fight against that stuff. I appreciate your offer to support the channel, I truly do, but KZbin's monetization process is an everchanging fickle nightmare that just isn't worth constantly dancing around. I'm sure you've heard plenty of other creators complain about it in the past as well and that's cause it suuuuucks.

I think you might find SF2 worth talking about after you play SF3. SF3 is a much better game (though, if you don’t enjoy the combat, maybe you’ll have a different opinion there) and I think it would be interesting to see a retrospective review of SF2 and what it does wrong in light of what SF3 does better? I’ve replayed SF1 and SF3 quite a few times, but I’ve never been remotely tempted to replay SF2. I thought the issue was the encounter rate, but even being able to patch that out of 2, I still don’t like it, and it’s hard to put a finger on exactly why. Maybe you can! If so, I think that’s a video worth watching. Anywho, regardless of what you end up doing, I appreciate your content, and I’m tempted to upgrade to that second pattern tier, but probably only after you’ve got a few of those new series vids uploaded. from what I've seen in the comments, you should give starforce 2 the same treatment zero 2 got by its 3rd game. It would be incredibly hilarious if you didn't even say anything, but it might be better to do a short summary of sf2 instead of a scrolling block of text like in z3 as a cameo to that game. I definitey think you should make a short summary of sf2 to put in one of your videos as a short scroll-by that you maybe read, before getting into the actual video, or maybe have the summary be a patreon exclusive (unless you don't feel like shitposting on patreon, which is understandable.)

Honestly I can't even blame you for skipping Star force 2. Star force is such a mixed series to the point you start to realize just why exactly the 4th game got cancelled. I wouldn't be surprised if a star force collection was straight up skipped in the future.

A brief recap of SF2's story (get permission to use other people's footage if you have to) and a summary of your overall thoughts on the game as an intro to a SF3 review would work fine. I've heard that it's quite an endurance test and a generally miserable experience.

You could always play Starforce 3 if there is any curiosity or motivation on stream and see if you want to do a video, and then do a video on Starforce 2 as a failure of a midquel and why it fails compared to the other 2. OR A dual video of why starforce 2 and 3 shit the bed compared to the first one if thats what you find.

Try to regulate Spreader * it would be very useful to counter enemies and get a full synchro to use it on powerful chips! You can get this chip in the shopkeeper on ACDC 3 area and it cost 3200 zennies
