Never understood why people use wood, barrels, chairs, tables etc etc for target holders. That splinters, breaks and make a big mess with trash all over the ground and range. I custom made all mine out of 10 foot long 3/8" round steel rod. I heated it up the 90 degree corners with a oxygen/acetylene torch and bent it into the perfect size and shape of a standard B27 silhouette leaving about 3" extra on all 4 sides. I then mig welded it up to hold a standard B27 or plain scrap cardboard in the middle for other size targets and stickers. I sharpened the bottom of the feet on the belt sander and used 1/2" thick 5"x5" steel plates for weights and something to step on to drive them down into the dirt about 6" to keep it upright and standing while being shot and against wind. The clips are simple binder spring office clips from Walmart. I can use standard thumb tacks to secure to the cardboard in the middle as well. I even did a custom snakeskin camo paint job on them to practice for doing ARs. I had one guy who made his out of 3/4" PVC pipe and fittings tell me "I did it all wrong". That is because he can't weld and or fabricate anything out of jealousy more than anything. His works but looks like rookie amateur junk while mine are professional and made to last. When I go to one of my local ranges I see a bunch of plywood all blown to bits left laying like junk. I see the steel folding chairs riddled with bullet holes because somebody shot them too. I see the blue plastic barrels the club sets out for target holders are full of holes and left as junk. One would think they need to come up with something different because the handgun range at least looks like a landfill with all that trash and junk left and in there. I haven't noticed it as bad on the shotgun trap range or long rifle ranges. I'm thinking the handgun range gets all the greenhorn nOoBs and mallninjas that don't know what they are doing and just like to tear and shoot stuff up while there. Who else would take a steel folding chair and shoot it full of 100 bullet holes?! Someone had to donate, bring or buy that and you guys wrecked them. My target holders would probably get stolen if I made some up for the club and donated them to stay. It would sure be a lot less messy though and much more professional. Count on the licensed HVAC tech, maintenance man and fabricator to do it better than anybody else. It's not just a job....it's a adventure!!

🤦 Ain't nothing to what compares to what some idiots did up at the Colman range!!!!! Blew up a bunch of fridges and stoves with tanerite. Range closed permanently 🤷

Sounds exactly like our public range here. The only difference between the range and the public landfill is you don’t need hearing protection.

@greggarmin9426 Yeah, when the lock downs took place, we had an all new group of people using public ranges. It's truly amazing just how many people take these places for granted. It's always a few that will ruin it for all!

It's everywhere! Nobody seems to give a damn about accountability!! Common sense is a thing of the past for many these days. Our club has the same problems....target stands shot to hell, trash laying around and targets left hanging. Sometimes, we are our own worst enemy....

Agree 100 0/0!! Our local sportsman's club had to lock the gate so a supervisor had to be there, didn't take long until enough members started policing others and those things ended..🤬
