2:26 one thing that I love when coming home to Ireland from the U.K. is that Irish place names are also given in my native Irish Gaelic language - I’d love to be able to speak Irish more fluently and this is a really nice touch - they also do this in Wales with Welsh place names and I really like this idea ❤

@@DeeptiKulkarni_ Deepti, Rani, they run West from Grand Canal Dock to Maynooth, and from Heuston to Hazelhatch.
Some of them also now run from Grand Canal Dock to Hazelhatch through a tunnel under the Phoenix Pk. Electrification of these lines will start in the next year.

Being Irish myself and living 22 years in Manchester UK, I still have extended family in the same village in my home county in Rural Ireland where I grew up - re Dublin and the LUAS trams, it is a great pity that these are not extended to the Irish Ferries and Stena Terminals via the Dublin Docklands rail station, as I come home as often as I can on SailRail via Holyhead - I’d love to see water taxis going further along the Liffey from the Port as far as Capel St Bridge or smaller foot passenger only ferries docking at the Custom House arriving from Holyhead or Liverpool, as a viable alternative to flying and air travel

1:49 my extended family live in Dunshaughlin Co Meath and currently, Bus Éireann/Transport for Ireland operate direct coach services from Dublin Busaras Coach station to Navan, Kells and Cavan - it is hoped that the Irish government will extend the current M3 Parkway Line from Dublin Docklands via Dunshaughlin to Navan, which will be a huge advantage for me when I come home to family on visits from the U.K. - I also am most impressed with the DART services compared to most U.K. trains and the Manchester Metrolink Trams and I use the DART when visiting friends near Sandymount - I can always find someone to drive me from Dunshaughlin to M3 Parkway, get a train to Dublin Connolly and catch the DART to Sandymount

Leap cards could still be handy if you’re in a county that has bus transportation.

You will get plenty of veg options but mostly in the form of sandwiches/wraps/burritos unless it’s Indian. There are quite a good number of Indian restaurants too. There are couple of Indian stores that you will easy find in case you want to cook. Have a great time in dublin and don’t forget to buy leap card .

@@DeeptiKulkarni_ Correction Deepti: There are no border checks, immigration, or customs between north and south Ireland. Once you are on the island, you can travel to any city unhindered. There are also no checks if you get the ferry from Belfast to Scotland, but you will need to use an Irish address when booking the ferry online.

Public transportation in Dublin is appalling. Try going from the Liberties to let's say, Cabra, it's faster on foot. Two tram lines for the city of more than a million, you gotta be kidding me. No Wonder everyone is using cars.😢 As is the case with everything else, unfortunately, Ireland seems to be stuck in the 1970ies, compared to any other West European country.
