He is absolutely right that it is okay for preachers to stay protected within the church walls but it is better to go out and spread the message. Do you believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God? Matthew 23:9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Now Jesus does not mean no one may refer to a parent as "father." He is specifically addressing the practice of referring to religious leaders and mentors as "father" in any formal or official sense. What's forbidden is an attempt to give one of Jesus' followers a spiritual status above that of others.

Did you call your dad, Father or dad? Surely Christ did not mean to stop calling fathers: Father. However, we can understand Him to mean not to put any Father on the same level as our Lord God in heaven; our reverence for God the Almighty Father is distinguished from honoring man. If I'm not mistaken this is shown in the Aramaic text.

And he is probably where he needs to be and where God has called him to be for the time being because there are Anglicans who need someone who thinks and speaks like them to call them back to Truth and repentance. You can't say you respect the Orthodox Church if you believe all of its Saints were in gross delusion about this issue. This is not to judge the state of the souls of any of the individuals who are in these groups. We don't judge Roman Catholics or Protestants or Muslims or Hindus or anyone. Great conversation - does Orthodox and Anglicans have the sacrement of confession ( reconciliation )as well ?
@leenieledejo684911 ай бұрын
The "sacrament of confession" is blasphemous. Jesus died, suffering the punishment of sin in our place (Romans 6:23, John 3:16) in order to reconcile us to God. Anyone who puts their trust in Jesus and follows him is forgiven, the burden of sin is lifted, they walk in newness of life (Ephesians 2:1-2, 2 Corinthians 5:17 etc) and are RECONCILED TO GOD (2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Romans 5:10-11, Ephesians 2:16, Colossians 1:20-22). Romans 6 (the whole chapter), John 8:34-36 & 1st John 3 also explicitly say that we no longer sin. And so "the sacrament of Confession" is wrong on many levels and is typical of the RCC usurping God, rebelling against the Word of God and despising the work of Christ.

I think they would or could or maybe should say something along the lines of, "they're not members of the Church [meaning the Constantinople-based Churches], but they may be repentant believers akin to the thief on the cross, and should be brought into the Church." It's the balance of, the Holy Spirit can do what He will, with, where do we discern the body instituted by Christ whose teaching we can trust? However, I'm an outsider, so maybe I'm not capturing the right nuances.
