Pablo efc if you have to ask “is that the blood Tub”. You can not know Birkenhead. Fuck Wirral. I mean the North end of BIRKENHEAD. Originally a thriving community called Ilchester Square, see the flats above. The whole square was maisonettes and houses, all the way up to St James’s Church. Sailors n Dockers used to fill that pub when our docklands thrived. Then as unemployment hit it became a “rough as fuck pub” BUT if you were known you could drink there till you fell. Tranmere Rovers “SUPER WHITE ARMY” would meet there to visit away teams due to being a minute from BIRKENHEAD NORTH station. Good pub. Good people. HARD TIMES. fatzappa

@@the-real-angus-young I grew up in the North End, and Ilchester Square scared the p*ss out of me. My dad sometimes drank at the pub, though the Bidston was his regular. I never dared go in.
