I may be putting too much of myself into my analysis but whether or not you intended it, I really appreciate and enjoy your act and am so frustrated and disappointed that AGT judges completely missed the point. I don’t just see the singing alone as the performance but the costume and the muteness as all the same. To me you are in essence a personification of sorrow and melancholy. Drama’s mask of tragedy personified in human form and standing on stage for the world to hear. It resonates deeply and I wish there was more appreciation for the elegance of its simplicity. The sad clown iconography that’s integral to the emotional performance. I, like Simon have a strong clown phobia but when I see you perform I don’t see a clown. I see the embodiment of an emotion and it is truly special. Just had to get that off my chest. Thank you for all you’ve given us.

This is one of the most beautiful songs in existence, and even though its original version is already a masterpiece, Puddles' performance does justice to that perfection. I may add that as I was listening to this, I was singing along, and for some reason tears just started streaming down my face. +Deepak M at some point in the late 80's, early 90's, mainstream music died. See for yourself; pick some random years from the 1940's and up until present and listen to the bestsellers for each year. Even the genres you don't really like, you can see that the artists had talent and you can understand why someone would enjoy that; nothing is truly awful right up until the mid 80's. Skilled artists didn't go anywhere; there are more than ever with better tools and better modes of distribution of their work than ever; but turn on a music channel on TV or the radio and if it's not some kind of "golden oldies"-special it's just terrible. It's so terrible that I didn't think I liked music growing up; sure some video games had nice music (especially the commodore 64) but I didn't think of that as in the same category as the crap you heard on radio; and sure, some movies had good music in the bakground but that was especially made for the movie, I thought. It wasn't really until 1999 when we got 10/100 mbps fiber that it really clicked for me that music used to be good and there are still tonnes and tonnes of artists who are good toiling away somewhere completely unheard of.

Rarely can you see someone actually do a cover that is legitimately as good if not better than the original. My only issue is that I don't 'have more than two thumbs up to give!

It's not only about singing the song, something has to write it and put it on paper.

There’s just something about puddles that makes me feel warm inside. The idea of this adorable character, a clown, who is sad and looks like he’s constantly questioning himself, but he’s got this absolutely gorgeous unique voice. I can feel his emotion and passion for what he does. It’s just a good situation all around. Love you puddles, you deserve the best ♥️

Puddles my 13 and 12 year old have discovered so many great song through you. Songs that without the skits they may have may have never heard and had the comfort of music in their lives. Music to accompany them in the good the bad, music that puts words to our feelings specially during the angst and confusions of the teenage mind... Thank you puddles

Saw him once in south Florida. Will go again if possible. The live performance, vocals, and show were phenomenal. I went by myself because nobody else was able to go and I have zero regrets.

If David Bowie and Tom Jones had a baby, you would be their love child! Fantastic version. Your voice and the way you sing always makes me feel so many emotions, and I cannot thank you enough for that. Thank you for being you, don't ever change. Much love from AZ ❣💜💙💞🤎💛🖤🤍

Puddles always makes me smile when I hear his version of this song. I'm a huge Bowie fan so this song is naturally a classic. Puddle's antics at certain parts while at the same time having outstanding vocals creates a version that is always refreshing.

Yeah, I don't understand the appeal of thousands of FB friends, unless you're a politician, an artist, a band, a business, and so on.
This song always calms me regardless of how I am feeling.

How do you make every song carry your own special magic with it ....and when the song begins, that magic explodes into the persona of YOU? You are the first clown that does not terrify me. I could listen to you sing all night.
