In a way, the ending is a nod/citation to the ending of the original music video which also gets a comedic relief, when Billie runs back to the table and picks up something she forgot. The whole video feels(to me) like a citation of the original, she plays with puppet clothesm, Puddles eats cake both seem to be lonely and waiting for something. The biggest difference, besides the obvious difference in scenes, is the lip sync in Puddles video.

Yeah he's an amazing singer but you can't win something like that with this level of costume on. I bet he's doing just fine. I just looked and I see he doing a tour in two countries and 13 shows, or something like that. Great cover singer; I'm not sure what he has that's original; he probably does, I'm just not that familiar. I've listened to most of his stuff so many times at work while I'm doing mundane tasks by myself.

I sobbed watching this. This was me last year, literally. Alone, in a car, trying to eat a meal which was really just a frozen pie I bought from the store, six hundred miles from my wife, having massive relationship problems, and completely broken. The ending? That somehow makes the whole thing even more sad. Made me remember how I sat there, last year, alone in the car, sobbing that life was just a cruel joke. Thank you Puddles. You help me heal. I love you.

Billie Ellish and Finneas wrote one of the most consequential songs with "What was I Made For?" I think we alll ask ourselves that question at times. Of course the song was written for the Barbie movie, but for we fans of Puddles, we know it was also written for him and Puddles of course delivered the song beautifully. Thank you Puddles.

Using the windshield wipers as a metronome is BRILLIANT. Keeping it softly in the background throughout the song is beautiful, like Dean Martin's coke bottle clink. Unique, but when hearing it you'll immediately think of the song.

I would have loved you anyway because your voice is great and your interpretations of songs are wonderful, but boy is it a bonus how CLEARLY you sing. Thank you for that. p.s. I saw your concert in Toronto a buncha years back.
