Yes, I'm here in Puerto Escondido now - the airbnb kindly left me 2 plastic bottles of water in the fridge. If instead, they had left a 5 gallon reusable container of water with a spigot I would have started off on the right foot. My heart goes out to the people working in the dump.
@Outlawes2 жыл бұрын
@@jenniewilliams1668 thanks for raising this point! Of course, hotel owners should take responsibility along side all of us to to protect our planet. If they have a suggestion box, maybe let them know?
@cabras612 жыл бұрын
Great film, yes that fish scene was a heartbreaker. For travelers remember to bring a water bottle, street vendors will happily fill it up with their garaphons, big reusable water bottles, for free or a few pesos. I am less for recycling and more for rejecting plastic whenever you can. I am a convert to Mexican homemade bar shampoo for example...

Thankyou so much for your kind support! You’re so right with your suggestions 🙏

We agree to reject plastic when ever you can. It almost seems rude because the people are so quick to bag everything, get you a straw and cant seem to understand not wanting another little plastic bottle of water, but its worth it. In our opinion The whole planet needs a just say no to single use plastic campaign. ✨🌈❤️
@erikkarl40572 жыл бұрын
I absolutely support this initiative, working with Jungla Plásticos for many years now. At my business (a hostel) I have reduced plastic waste by around 90% with two simple actions: 1) a tab water filter system, which is not cheap but pays off over the years. I sell refillable bottles for a small price 2) ordering everything from producers in reusable glass bottles - they have it in their system, you just need to ask for it

retired here from USA in 2p15. the populstion is growing beyond the cities ability to control the the pollution from garbage and plastics. there is no recycling program and many people throw their black garbage bags on the side of the road. its getting much worse. the tourists sre ruining this community.

Puerto Escondido's "Sustainable Problem" is also a worldwide ECO problem which for some is being ignored, public awareness needs to be re-addressed if we are to co-exist and save our planet. ECO education should be a part of the school curriculum, TV, Radio and other media communications must play their part. Governments need to make companies aware of their non-recycling products and to make provisions where necessary. A worthy documentary special that could be accepted by the education authorities to be shown in Schools and Event Shows. Effects of ECO waste is a serious concern for all, it's remarkable to hear that small independents can make a difference, with limited funding and the determination to make a better world needs to be commended.

Well done to those responsible people who are helping how to at least lessen plastic. It's going to be a massive effort from everyone of us to do our part minimizing wastes.
