I'm not Puerto Rican but my husband is and I have two beautiful children that are part Puerto Rican and I love the fact that I had is wonderful recipes to share with them and you've been just quite a blessing thank you very much and it's easy to find the things that you talked about and I can make a lot of things you do and thank you a lot for that

i'm so happy you shared this recipe. i never made it, but my dad que en paz descanse loved dulce de papaya. haven't had it for years!!! thank you, you are a sweetheart and i love your videos...my mother taught me how to cook because i was the oldest and she relied on me to start dinner so she could finish when she got home from work...your recipes and methods are close to what she taught me so it's like a refresher course. keep up the good work...

Hello, good video you have here. Here in Indonesia we like to make candied papaya, too. Here we call it "manisan pepaya" and we have a variation of it, some sweet, some sweet and sour, and some are sweet, sour, and hot (cooked with chili, my favorite). I never knew that we can also use baking soda as the dipper, so this is a new knowledge for me. Thanks for sharing your recipe! Cheers from half the globe away! 👋😊🍻

Ida! How wonderful you put this recipe up! Where I live about the only papaya I can get IS green or "sick" ripe ones. I'm going to the store today to get a nice big green one and work your magic on it. I love papaya but have to buy frozen (squishy) or canned (canned is just not the same). Do you think after I candy it I might have luck putting it in the dehydrator? Oh what a treat that would be to have it when ever I wanted it. Thank you so much!
