Ubers in Puerto Vallarta are not much cheaper than a taxi unless you go across the bridge across the highway ...but then their about the same as the taxi across the street

In pvr 2 weeks ago. Amazing race was being filmed. Watched as 5 different couples ran by followed by a photographer. They had different things to do on Malecon. Saw few couples who had fanny packs that read "amazing race". I was yelling go go.a open bàr few feet from me some patrons were yelling too. It was great.

wow actually your apartment was nice for that area and a pool, we lived in cinco decembre for 2 years, please go there for tacos, ecuador has 2 of the best stands they are actually on the taco tour. as far as the noise, yep no place to escape that, but we never had a problem because of the fans near our heads, you will be surprised how addicting the fan is, i cant sleep without it, its too quiet..easter is amazing for their culture to come alive, but its the busiest season also and so its wall to wall people..enjoy
@jillianandjeremy2 жыл бұрын
The pool definitely is nice! We definitely are happy with some of the aspects of the apartment. The noise though…if we would have known it was noisy here too, we would have rather just stayed in the heart of the action! We have earplugs. ☺️ we are the exact same, about the fan! We can’t sleep without a fan! We’ll definitely have to check out Those stands in 5 Diciembre! We are actually planning on doing our own taco tour videos, so be on the lookout! 😜

Loved your video and am looking forward to more from PVR. I would like to add a couple of corrections. Flying into PVR on the weekend is not recommended. The city has grown a lot over the past 10 years and the terminal cannot handle the large influx of arriving flights. It took us 5 hours to clear customs and get out of the airport the last time we flew in on a Saturday. Best bet is to come in and depart mid week. Secondly, the taxis outside of the terminal are not yellow and white. They are all white and really aren't that expensive, depending on how far you are going. To get to the less expensive taxis, you must cross the foot bridge you showed in your video to get to the yellow and white taxis. If you are lugging a lot of luggage, take the white taxis and pay the extra money. it really isn't that much money. But in the end, PVR is our favorite place to vacation. We've been going there every year for 16 years now and have 5 weeks booked already for 2023. I am looking forward to your next PVR video. Safe travels.

Thank you so much for those observations and corrections. Much appreciated. Wow, 5 hours! That’s never fun. Great points though. Thank you for watching, and we’re glad you enjoyed it (minus the mistakes). And lucky you, to be able to come here so often. What a beautiful place! Cheers!

I've been in many cities in Mexico where Uber worked just fine, but I have Uber nightmare stories from where I'm living now and refuse to use them here. I have five taxi drivers who I use when the bus won't work for me. Did the laundry room door handle end up falling off? Those ones all do eventually and with you having to tug and lightly slam, I'm thinking it may have. Closet doors that have no ventililation holes should be left open some in Mexican coastal areas due to humidity ;) No, I wouldn't stay there for that price, since you asked. PV is fun, if I go back, it would be on a house sit. "Excuse me sir, what's your KZbin channel?" That's the BEST!!! As always, I look forward to the food video - Anne
@jillianandjeremy2 жыл бұрын
Hi A!! You’ll have to tell us those Uber stories when we see you. Nope, that damn laundry door is still hanging on. It’s so finicky!!! 😃
@erniegislason51712 жыл бұрын
Agree. I use Uber to compare fares. Then negotiate with a local cab for same or better fare. Uber has ended up more expensive especially in traffic.I prefer to support the local economy rather than sending 25-30% to the platform owner overseas that doesn’t pay any taxes where services are rendered.
@jillianandjeremy2 жыл бұрын
@@erniegislason5171 that’s a good point, helping to support the local economy. It’s a thin line though, because sometimes those taxi drivers like to take advantage of you and charge you higher rates. But you’re totally not wrong. And we’ve definitely noticed the hike in price during busy times. Still cheaper than taxi, but noticeable difference.
@jillianandjeremy2 жыл бұрын
@@erniegislason5171 Thanks so much for the great tips on negotiating!! Where we live (on a private, 1-way street) there aren't many cabs so Uber is much more feasible. Good point on supporting local economy also. We DEFINITELY are in lots of ways. We so appreciate you watching, thanks again!! - Jillian
