I would probably recommend skipping over San Jose. If your only priority is beaches then you can skip over La Fortuna too, but it is a pretty cool area. We really loved the beaches near Puerto Viejo but I know Tamarindo is also very popular ☺️

Which is natural beauty, blue waves and coconut palms? Go to Puerto Viejo or Tamarindo Beach. Thank you.

Not sure about Tamarindo, but I know Puerto Viejo was beautiful and if you decide on that one I don't think you will be disappointed. If you are more of a surfer, I think that scene is bigger on the west coast, by Tamarindo.
