So much hardwork.. no modern factory.. just old kilns and hard labor.. now i know how murmura reaches from farm to our plates.. good work.

First, we should thank the OWNER OF THE MURMURA FACTORY for being open minded and willing to share with us the knowledge about how the murmura is made and allowing sirji to make the video. Second, Sirji, thank you so much for your interest and UNIQUE videos. We cannot easily find out how things are done in India, though we can get thousands of detailed and polished videos about making bread and beer and everything else from other countries. Very nicely presented also. In this video I understood your constraints also 😁. Thanks.

I am surprised, how difficult the process is, and it is very hard working job. People working very hard, I thought it is machine work but for one kadai they have to do lot of work.

Please also make a video on how "poha" (flat rice) are made. In fact, there are three distinct varieties: thick, normal and nylon. It would be interesting to know the difference in the making.

Thank you for sharing the industrial process for making murmura or Pori. I make them at home from paroled rice. These are the steps. take a cup full of patrolled rice. add about a spoon or two of water. mix well. Keep aside for a few minutes. In a thick kadhai add rock salt or Sea salt crystals which has been powdered well. (non iodised). Heat the pan well at high flame. keep an open sieve ready and a puri sieving spatula ready. add one small handful of wet sela rice give it quick stir. It pops in less than a minute. gather the puffed rice and salt onto the sieve and quickly remove the salt on the kadhai itself and set aside the puffed rice in a parat (large open thali with wide rim). repeat the process. One cup of rice yields enough puffed rice for a family of six to enjoy freshly popped Pori or muri. This practise is very traditional and finds mention in 1000 year old books in Tamil Nadu ..

Interesting subject. Good video inspite of bad lighting condition. One suggestion - please explain the entire process first on paper /board/ verbally and then take us to the actual equipment. That way , people will understand what you are trying to show, better. In Bengal/Odisha , there is a tradition where people make this at home regularly (on a small scale.) If you can film that , lot of us will find it useful. Great effort ! Looking forward to baking soda episode.
