I love your vids! They make me laugh so much. Quick DnD Story: I was playing cursed abyss with some friends and we were in prison with lots of other people. One of our party members was injured and unable to feed herself so another member tried to help. But, he rolled a NAT one resulting in her choking on a spoon and dying on the spot. The feeder then got murdered by all the other prisoners because another party member (me...) encouraged everyone to beat him up. That marked the end of the campaign that night and we all we all couldn’t stop dying of laughter!

When I was younger I got signed up for a D&D Summer Camp. In essence it was a week long Adventurer's League for younger kids with no experience with the game. It was one of the best experiences I ever had and I'd recommend it to anyone who's younger who wants to get into D&D. If you can find a good Adventurer's League that's willing to teach you the ropes it's by far the best way to get into D&D. You get to play with people who are excited to learn the game and experience it with extremely experienced GMs who are *paid* to make the game fun and exciting.

This made me remember my first character... Barbarian Goliath with an awesome Greataxe whose only goal in life was to die in battle, great character for a short and shy girl I felt soo badass! At the end of the campaign he was severely depressed because no matter what the party fought, he just kept not being hit while his friends had 'the luck' to die... A lot... In the end, when they had rid their world of all evil, he just wanted to die, but couldn't kill himself because he needed to do it in battle

Reminds me of a character from the starfinder games that Tyler hosted on saving throw a while back. Essentially a lizard man who's entire tribe thought dying in battle was the only way for them to go to heaven and while he was out lumber jacking one day his entire village was wiped out so when he got back he was like "Aw man i missed it!"

Sounds like you created a character because you were forced to play; but didn’t want too. 10 to 1 odds says you created this character so you could rush into battle make mistakes and then when you died, you had an excuse to stop playing. But by the sounds of it, someone talked to the DM and made it so you wouldn’t die. Also sounds like you amended up enjoying it too.

There are a lot of rules bla bla bla in the books, but keep this in mind: you want to take players to a different place. For thousands of years, when we were cave-men we sat in front of fires. You were bored, they were bored, so YOU told a story, about strange new places, daring, bravery, adventure. D&D is just a continuation of this impulse, it is surprising people with a story.

Me and my friends just started playing d&d a while ago and started off creating our own characters and my DM made a homebrew campaign. After my first session, I fell in love with the game and wanted to know more and see how others play. I came across your video when you introduced abserd and about peed my pants. It got me more closer with my character because I created more of a backstory and an accent. This influenced the rest of my party and now we are closer than ever and it’s even more fun!
