Is this the newer or older version? I heard the newer version is firmer
@NapLabReviews26 күн бұрын
This is the older version. You can see our review of the new version here - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/puffy-lux-hybrid-review/ You can see our video review for the new version here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oV67emCuhqmgeJI You are correct, the new version is slightly firmer than the older version. It's a 5.5 firmness, giving it a medium to medium-firm feel. The old version was a 5 out of 10, giving it a medium feel.

Would this bed or the purple restore premier be better for someone who has severe muscle weakness and pain all over the body? I currently have a firm mattress with a memory foam mattress topper and I have to use the bars on my bed frame to help me turn.
@NapLabReviews9 ай бұрын
You're using the bars to help turn yourself because you feel stuck in memory foam? Or another reason? My gut feeling is Puffy would be better, as it has better pressure relief the the Restore Premier. However, it's material response isn't as fast as Purple.

@@NapLabReviews , I have severe muscle weakness throughout my body and occasionally need help turning and sitting up when I physically can’t. Trying to find alternatives such as an adjustable bed that will help me out. I need a mattress that will not only help with my joint and bone pain but also to where it’s easier for me to turn and not have the issues with turning like I do with my memory foam topper.

@@terrynhemken5635 Take a look at the Zenhaven - naplab.com/go/saatva-zenhaven-mattress Full review here - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/zenhaven-mattress-review/ It has both exceptional pressure relief and instant material response. Unlike memory foam, it doesn't overly contour to the body and remains incredibly easy to move around on as latex is more springy and responsive compared to poly / memory foam. It sounds like it would be better suited to your needs.

I have a lot of shoulder pain that’s been inflicted by my hybrid mattress, would you recommend this relieve pressure on my shoulder?
@NapLabReviews7 ай бұрын
Puffy Lux is a great mattress for pressure relief. Given the performance and material quality I expect most would find ample pressure relief for shoulders and everywhere else on their body.

Would you recommend this or the Elm Sleep Resort 15” Hybrid?
@NapLabReviews Жыл бұрын
The Elm did earn a slightly better score compared to Puffy Lux in our testing. The biggest difference was motion transfer, which was moderately lower on the Elm. The biggest negative is that Elm is a fairly new brand, only around 1 year old. Puffy has been around for several years. While both are technically memory foam hybrids, I do think Puffy Lux has a more notably memory foam feel with a more dramatic body contouring hug. I think that is really the deciding factor. Do you like the feel, hug, and contour of memory foam? If so, go Puffy. Or do you prefer a more balanced level of body contouring hug? If so, go Elm.

Not yet, but it just arrived on Friday. We're getting started on the tests this week. So you can expect it coming soon.

I'm considering this mattress, but I notice it has no zoned support. What are your thoughts on long-term durability / spinal alignment? The pressure relief is certainly appealing :)
@NapLabReviews8 ай бұрын
In general, I find the zoned coil systems offer better support than those without. Even so, I'm not super worried about long-term durability with this mattress. When it comes to durability, it's the foam that is going to break down and create issues with the long-term comfort and support issues, not the coils (zoned or otherwise). All of the foams are high quality and the mattress uses a thick comfort layer, both of those factors are essential to longevity.

Would you do a video of the best mattresses for platform beds? When we got a platform bed we threw out the box springs for our king mattress, huge mistake 😑
@NapLabReviews Жыл бұрын
Is it a true platform (solid surface from end to end) or does it use slats? Doing a best mattresses for platform beds would be a complex and I fear confusing video, due to the different types of platforms. In general, as long as the platform, slats, foundation, or adjustable are providing proper and full support then almost any mattress will work perfectly fine with it (excluding some old school innerspring, which aren't made much any more, that do still require an actual spring box spring). The problem is that many types of frames and foundations just aren't particularly strong performers and don't provide that foundational support, thereby decreasing mattress performance / durability / longevity. The heavier the mattress the more of a problem it becomes.

Everything green except the soft edges. We are both edge sleepers. Otherwise we were positive buyers of the Puffy Lux.😢
@NapLabReviews2 ай бұрын
Indeed...shame that the edge support wasn't better. Even so, still a great mattress.
