I gave this Puget Sound Coho seminar at the 2022 Western Washington Sportmen's Show in Puyallup, WA. I broke this seminar down into 3 parts. This is part 1 of 3.
In part 1 we discuss rods, reels, terminal tackle, mainline, topshot, downriggers and downrigger clips.
KZbin is great place to watch seminars, but seeing a seminar in person is best. It allows you the best opportunity to ask questions and hear others questions and learn. Seminars are edited and you do not always see or hear all of the questions at the end of the seminar. If you have a specific question, ask it in the comments below.

while a 7' downrigger lead is safer and shows shaker action better, it also pulls your clip (lure) up about 4 feet higher than where it's actually clipped. buy a wood broom stick and drill a hook into it to grab your clip lines easier. found that's easier than the line assist things.
