Yoda existed before Gizmo. What did he think a young member of that race would look like? Dude's upset that a series predating Gremlins dared to make a child from an existing race. Man needs to get down off the cross, use the wood to build a bridge, and get the fuck over it.

I remember seeing this at the drive in when it came out. You will have a blast with the second one. Fun fact- this movie along with Temple of Doom is the reason we now have PG-13 movies

Fun fact! The gremlins sounds were mostly provided by frank welker, who has done a voice in almost every animated show since the 60s, probably most notably Fred from scooby doo! (Another Scooby doo tie in)

But most of Frank Welker's voices were vocal effects for animals, with his monkey ones being so spot-on that they attract actual monkeys. Pretty sure Fred from Scooby Doo is his only human character.

Some of my favourite moves of all time, loved Gremlins. The second one isn’t a Christmas movie but it’s just as good, if not better than the first one. It’s just crazy and all over the place. You should definitely watch the sequel next, there are unfortunately only 2 of these movies.

if you thought this was semi scary as an adult, imagine the kids who saw this in the movie theaters back in 1984, why? because when this movie came out the PG-13 rating did not exist yet. and YES, there's only 1 sequel, and it's quite good :)

Joe Dante directed this, apparently he absolutely hated it. He thought it was dumb and no one would like it. The public however loved it and wanted a sequel. So when he made the second film (which he didn't want to do at first) he decided to go even further with it, positive everyone would hate it this time around (it also has some meta commentary stuff in it) however once again, people loved it, and we never got a third one.

When I was younger, this movie scared the crap out of me. It took me until about a year ago to realize the ending comments before the credits is what got to me. Rewatching it all these years later, I can now enjoy all the funny and goofy parts about this movie. The sequel is a lot more goofy and I don't think classifies as a Christmas film for what I remember. What's weird though is I saw the sequel about two years after seeing the first one, and I wasn't scared at all by it.
