I am really enjoying your posts and learning so much! I am still trying to narrow down the area and type of property. Not that many stairs as it’s hard as you age 😱but definitely with an outdoor Grassy area for al fresco eating

Personally, in case my hip or knee are having a bad day, I prefer a shower big enough for a shower seat. They did a beautiful job on the house.

Oooooo, you're going to show Lecce. I'm obsessed with star vaults & Baroque architecture. If I buy a place with star vault ceilings, I may never leave the house. Just sit & stare at my ceiling.

Chris, I’m heading to Italy ,after 2 1/2 years of taking care of my 96 year old dad full-time, my sister is going to give me time off to take a little break. I was going to ask you if I was in Salento, and trying to get to Lecce is the train the best option, or should I just take a bus? What do you think about the train? Thank you, Chris!!

Please tell us the price of labor and materials if possible this is very important it give us a rough idea of what are the costs there. I am planning to buy property in italy for renting to tourist. (i reside in southern california) i explored a couple of days ago tuscany, and abruzzo, next time i come (in the summer) will be coming to puglia so any feed back about prices, of (properties, labor, materials) turistic areas, etc, is welcome! thanks

Hi Ana, Here in Puglia the prices seem to be more or less in line with Calabria prices. We are putting in three ac/heat splits and our plumber who is so great and so responsive quite us €3,500 for everything (Piping, cost of units, electrics, etc) We will definitely keep you updated on costs.
