Fun fact, Bandit reaching out like he's trying to stop Pom Pom is actually him making sure she doesn't get hurt by tumbling off the see-saw. Through most of his time on the see-saw Bandit has his back fully to the other kids, even when Pom Pom gets on, but as soon as she starts falling down the slide he immediately moves to catch her if she falls and keeps his eyes on her until the shifting balance starts lifting him up.
@TrueEnergizerBunnies4 ай бұрын
I always see it as him pretending to try and grab her so it doesn't look like he's letting her win and/or to encourage her to keep trying to climb up even after she slips
@hweidigiv4 ай бұрын
Also, because his weight is shifting to the centre of the seesaw, which acts as a lever. It means that even if Pompom wasn't "heavy enough", he's making himself easier to lift for the kids.

I noticed that, too! :D
@ThisPancakeIsBurnt3 ай бұрын
It's not that he loses focus when the balance begins to shift, but when you look, he lowers his arm once Pom Pom is in range of Bluey's grasp (if she outstretched her arms) meaning he doesn't have to worry about catching her, because Bluey is capable of it both due to Pom Pom's light weight and closeness to her

I had a Pomeranian growing up; despite how small he was (and even had slight epilepsy), he acted like a loyal guard dog. Pom Pom's quote "Pomeranians are a small but hardy breed!" sums up his personality in life. And that's why this is my favorite Bluey episode.

This episode was really special to me. I was a TINY little kid, always the smallest in my class by a long shot. I struggled to play on most playground equipment because of this. id call this style of parenting "Natural Parenting" because the kids are forced to learn these life lessons on their own or NATURALLY. us adults tend to talk down to kids, as if their dumb or something when in reality they aren't. they are inexperienced. they are doing everything for the 1st time. its like when Chilli and Bandit were taking care of bluey in Baby Race. no one talked down to them when they were asking how to get Bluey walking. the doctor, Grandma Healer, and Cocoas mom all talked to them normally. why should we do that with kids? their not babies, their able to string things together, and figure out more complex problems. we see it in this episode. in stead of forcing Bandit off, they get other kids to get him off by himself. that's a more complex solution, to a more complex problem, and they came to that solution on their own.
@Vhagaryen4 ай бұрын
I love this show's parenting hints and how it teaches adults to make the littles in their life feel empowered. So when Pom Pom sits with her mom since she thinks she's too small to play, Bandit notices. He knows right away that the thing to do is to give Pom Pom the confidence to get involved in playing with the other kids, and improvises a game where her contribution makes all the difference. Chili, having had to help Pom Pom to the ground earlier, realizes what Bandit is doing and plays an assist. It's like learning to ride a bike - if you fall, you don't put your bike away and quit, you get back on and practice till you learn your balance. This Bluey episode is a great lesson for any child with a disability or just anxiety about whether they can keep up with their peers. Pomeranians - and all kids - are a small but hardy breed!

I actually cried watching this because I grew up as a human PomPom, I am only 4ft 9 at 40, so imagine how little I was at that age I got called "too little" for so, so many things. In fact I never took drivers training in school because I knew how tesased I'd be for having to sit on something. A couple years later my mom almost died in a car accident so anxiety now stops me
@SaintStryfeArgentEngraving3 ай бұрын
hey there - I don't share your size issue, but I did have pretty crippling anxiety about driving for a long time. It scared me for a long time to control a vehicle and I didn't get a licence until I was in my 40's, but I got it recently, as I started a business and really needed the car for that. I realize it is scary but a few things helped me - one, I took it very slow. As I got into a car I just started in empty parking lots and just avoided other cars and just tried doing the things I saw other people do. Second, I realize that modern cars are incredibly safe compare to older ones - they will protect you if the worst happens. Three, I got some lessons about how other drivers don't want bad things to happen. They can be bad, but they ultimately just want to get going where they're headed too and driving is more then just an act you do - it's you working with lots of others.

Bandit is an Archeologist, and seeks that forbidden knowledge 3) Lucky's Dad would worship Peryite. He's a hardworking everyman who wants to stop us from raising a nation of squids. 4) Pom Pom would worship Molag Bal, because the second cutest character is always secretly the most evil 5) Since Lulu treats him as an Outcast, Jack is under Malacath's protection 6) Coco would worship Namira. Like Weedle the King of Beggers, she is the youngest and weakest of many siblings 7) Bingo would pick Mephala, since she loves Insects and Meohala is a giant Spider Lady 8) Muffin would follow Sanguine, because SHE WANTS TO DO WHAT SHE WANTS! And 9) Socks would pick Sheogorath. He's the youngest Daedric Prince, and impossible to reason with

I could also see Socks as Clavicus Vile, honestly- other than the straightforward idea of Barbus being such a relevant figure, and Clavicus being the "Child-God of the Morningstar," Socks is honestly becoming quite the thinker and communicator. In a pretty short amount of time, she goes from being basically nonverbal but perceptive of the situation (like Veranda Santa) to a lot of full sentences. (The Sign) Give her enough time, and I could see her almost taking on some of the conniving little sibling-type character traits, like Daryl McGee or Louie Duck. (Except waaaay more grounded. No helicopters or explosive ordinances for Socks lol) But with Muffin as such a commanding presence, she's going to need some way to get what she wants, or risk just fading into the background, and I think we'd see her backing down already if that was going to happen.

Unfortunately, this is a parenting technique I probably won't be using if I become a parent. Once I weigh down a seesaw like Bandit, my child(ren) would likely start climbing on me or tickling me until I give up and get off.
@angelinacamacho85754 ай бұрын
almost sounds like what dog trainers call "free shaping" in which there is a problem that needs to be solved using your natural skills or knowledge that has been acquired over time. instead of me telling my dog sit for his meals he learns it by just doing the act and getting the reward and in essence figures out a solution to the problem. pompom figured out a solution by simply watching the others climb the seesaw and saw it get heavier. she figured out how to help make that side of the seesaw heavier all on her own.
@Eli.E.E3 ай бұрын
I love that when PomPom gets on the seesaw we don’t see Bandit’s leg leave the ground, and when he gets lifted up, he drops the rocks, as if ensuring that even if PomPom wasn’t heavy enough he did everything to make the seesaw move up. Details like this make me love the team that makes Bluey

i know it could be said for several things and its not entirely the point in this video, but i love how they use dog breeds as a metaphor for real life diversity of all kinds i mean another example i can think of is with judo and wendy in the episode where they cut their fur short, and thats not an issue that the heeler family seemingly ever has to deal with, since theyre a shorter haired breed. i cant pinpoint if theres any close real world direct metaphor there (but im sure something can be said, its just not an experience im personally familiar with), but it just shows the differing experiences they have because theyre not the exact same as eachother. and i love how they always find a solution for any issues the kids might be having because of their differences, like this episode of course.
@hazey_dazey3 ай бұрын
I think the metaphor with Judo and Wendy is just them being a more traditional/old-school family. Not my experience, but i've read many accounts from women who weren't allowed to cut, dye, or otherwise experiment with their hair as teens because there was this unspoken requirement that they should have long, pretty hair. I can imagine Wendy inheriting an idea like that

I kinda related to Pom Pom I wasn’t exactly the fastest kid on the playground, and therefore I was left out of most games because no one wanted me on their team because I was too slow. I have a genetic disability with my legs. Chronic pain, hard to bend my knees and run and walk fast, but still functional. Didn’t matter and when the adults who forced them to let me play, it just made them resent me. Even more when we lost. So I played by myself because I got sick of being rejected and now I have social anxiety. No one ever considered finding a way for me to join, they just wanted to win. When I saw them leaving out Pom Pom it was like flashbacks to elementary school (I was around 8-9, MAYBE 10) because I heard similar comments.

The episode "Seesaw" is not only an episode, but it is an amusing short film. I know a few characters who have been stated as small before like Mao Mao from MMHOPH and Mickey Mouse who wants to be a musketeer from "The Three Musketeers: Mickey, Donald and Goofy". In the beginning of the episode, Pom Pom felt very discouraged as she could not play with Bluey and Bingo due to her size capacity. However, later, when Chloe, Coco and Snickers have helped Bluey and Bingo to seesaw Bandit off and still fail, it was all up to Pom Pom to help them since she was the only kid left. Reaching the seesaw, she struggled at first but with her friends' encouragement, she was able to reach the top and seesaw Bandit off. With that, no obstacle is too big and no Pomeranian is too small.

Not exactly an eager egg or even intended detail But the rocks Bandit was holding are placed a far distance from where he was, and had he dropped them to catch himself, would have fallen closer I reckon. I have the theory that Pompom was actually not enough to cause the seesaw to tip but instead Bandit tossed the stones to have it seem that way. To further encourage her view on self worth. She WAS the deciding factor.
